Foreign nations may have more to offer of innovative governmental approaches to environmental problems than is generally appreciated in the U.S. This paper reports on a study of approaches to promote hazardous waste minimization among leading industrial nations. Some of these might be adapted for use in the U.S. and, especially, the less confrontational government/industry interface could be of value here.
