In the present research investigation, the administration of ethanolic extract of Gaultheria trichophylla (EEGT) at doses of 300 and 200 mg/kg, as well as the treatment with salicylate-rich fraction (SRF.) at a dose of 150 mg/kg, exhibited a significant anti-arthritic effect across various inflammatory parameters. The reduction in body weight observed during episodes of inflammation can be attributed to a decrease in the absorption of nutrients via the intestinal tract (Patil and Suryavanshi 2007).
