Parents play a crucial role in the full development of the child. Parents are the child's first role model that influences them in the basic values, like religious values, and issues related to their future, like educational choices that will tend to prevent them from engaging in illegal activities. This study was conducted to determine the lived experiences of parents with children at risk in Barangay Carangan, Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental. It is a phenomenological study where the researchers made interview guide questions to gather data on the parents' lived experiences. The study was conducted on randomly selected parents with at-risk children in Barangay Carangan, Ozamiz City. Moreover, seven parents with children at risk were purposely selected to be part of the research study participants. The participants were selected with the criteria where Parents of a Child at Risk/custody of the child in Barangay Carangan, Ozamiz City, have difficulties coping with their child at risk and are willing to participate in the study. Four themes were identified in the study: Emotionally Stressed, Parental Acceptance, Giving a Child at Risk Effective and Positive Discipline, and Proper Parenting Approach. The study's findings show that most parents with children at risk experienced emotional stress, parental acceptance, giving their child at risk effective and positive discipline, and proper parenting approach. However, some Children at Risk tend not to listen to their parent's advice and choose to be with their peers or groups prone to committing illegal acts. Through this, the parents will have ni choice but to accept their children's decisions. Even though their child committed illegal acts, they still gave effective and positive discipline with a proper parenting approach in handling their child at risk. Therefore, it was recommended that Parents with Child At Risk in Barangay Carangan, Ozamiz City, continue to give effective and positive discipline in handling with risky behavior of their children at risk to avoid them and prevent them from committing other illegal acts. Moreover, parents encouraged children to always follow and listen to their parent's advice to avoid and prevent them from committing or engaging in another illegal act because if the child at risk is disciplined and making their current situation as their teacher, it can reduce the burden of emotional stressed of the parents and that will create a healthy environment for them

The experiences of non-criminology graduate police officers in the Philippine National Police organization are necessary to perceive whether internal and external factors affect their motivation and decision to enter the organization. This study will explore the experiences of non-criminology graduate Police officers in the Philippine National Police (PNP) organization during the year 2023. Transcendental phenomenology was the research design used in the study. Six non-criminology graduate police officers in the Philippine National Police organization participated in the study and were chosen using purposive sampling. An in-depth interview was done to gather data using interview guide questions. The participants' responses were transcribed, coded, and organized to form themes based on the study's objective with the aid of Hyperresearch software. The data were then analyzed and interpreted using Moustaka's data analysis steps. Results revealed that the majority of the non-criminology graduate police officers were at the age of middle age, with a degree in Education, and with rank as Police Staff Sergeants. Non-criminology graduate police officers experienced having motivation for joining PNP, positive experience during Basic Recruit Training (BRT), receiving equal treatment during BRT, challenges during BRT, overcoming personal weaknesses, and a variety of coping mechanisms in dealing with challenges during BRT. They have a strong sense of purpose, and commitment to public service can be a powerful motivator for anyone seeking a career in law enforcement, regardless of their academic background. They have also found that their unique skills and perspectives from their previous academic or professional backgrounds are valued and contribute to their success during BRT and beyond. They used to have different skills and experiences than their criminology graduate peers. However, they are held to the same high professionalism, discipline, and ethical conduct standards. They face certain challenges due to their lack of formal training or Education in law enforcement; however, with dedication, hard work, and a willingness to learn, non-criminology graduate police officers can overcome their challenges and become successful law enforcement officers. They used to face personal weaknesses during BRT in the PNP; they can overcome them by setting goals, seeking out mentorship and support, and staying committed to their development as a law enforcement officer. They used to adopt a growth mindset, meaning that they view challenges as opportunities for growth and learning.

Imprisonment of any family member affects the lives of the immediate members, especially if it is the head of the father who is convicted, leaving other members in pain because of the situation. This study determined the challenges encountered by the family members of the patriarch inmates in Iligan City, Philippines, during the first quarter of 2021. The study utilized the phenomenological research design. Ten identified family members composed the number of participants interviewed using a structured interview guide made by the researcher. The study utilized Moustaka’s Transcendental Analysis in analyzing the data. Responses to the interview were analyzed utilizing NVivo software producing the four main themes: striving for sustenance and survival; financial and moral drawbacks; emotional grief; and annoying unsolicited public opinions towards the situation. These identified challenges encountered by the family members may serve as a benchmark for the concerned government agency in crafting programs that will help the family members of the patriarch inmates. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen the support system of the concerned government agency towards the family members of the patriarch inmates. Furthermore, since most of the challenges the family members encounter is more focused on the emotional aspect of their lives, the social welfare department may strengthen their programs in supporting these families through effective evaluation of the situation for them to craft appropriate counseling techniques for these identified families. Keywords : emotional grief, imprisonment, moral drawbacks, striving for sustenance, unsolicited public opinions

... professionalism expressed by the law enforcers moderates their performance of law enforcement operation to the effectiveness of law enforcement operation. The simple slope analysis indicates that professionalism is positive among the respondents allowing traffic enforcers to have a smooth conversation towards a violator which they tend to address, (Paje et. al., 2022), though for this study, it weakens the relationship between the performance of law enforcers and the law enforcement operation. Table 6 showed the moderation analysis using SPSS's PROCESS macro (Hayes, 2013). ... Additionally, it is important for clinicians to recognize that a loss due to incarceration could lead to ongoing, cascading losses, and subsequently include this in their case conceptualization when developing treatment goals and (Boss, 2016), increasing tolerance for ambiguity as a means to increase resilience to cascading losses may be an effective way for clinicians to address the ongoing and uncertain nature of the losses they experience. Further, given the new difficulties that may arise throughout the incarcerated person's sentence (e.g., concerns for wellbeing; disciplinary infractions that result in loss of communication or contact privileges; Jones et al., 2024;Texas Department of Criminal Justice, 2023), teaching distress tolerance and coping skills to help family members prepare for and cope with these experiences may be an important part of treatment, given the unpredictability of the criminal-legal system (Hay et al., 2022;Insong & Cuevas, 2021). Additionally, clinicians may need to take into account the significant effects that loss of income may have on a family, including prioritizing cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analyses in their selection of interventions for family members (see Castelnuovo et al., 2016). ...
