This article analyzes epistemological problems in the field ofcommunication and new medias studies. Firstly, I will examine complex relationships between qualitative analysis and the reality analyzed. Against « naive realism » and « radical relativism» positions, we will argue that the results of research need to be plausible. Then, we will discuss the question of scientific norms underlying qualitative studies who claim their plausibility. Secondly, we will focus on the question of the legitimacy of social actors’s views in qualitative researches. Thirdly, we will analyze the question of criticism’s foundations.
