The oldest remains date to Thut mose I or II and a temple from Thutmose IV is also attested there (Bonnet 2003:209 Shabaqo, Amannote-erike, and Amanikhareqerem (Valbelle and Bonnet 2000;Valbelle 2003b:233). The deity worshipped in the temples erected in the New Kingdom and then rebuilt by Taharqo at Tabo on Argo Island remains unknown (Bonnet 2011), but it is defi nitely not Amun of Pnubs as previously thought (Jacquet Gordon et al. 1969;Hein 1991: 63;Rocheleau 2008:25, 76-77). ...
