Tracking unseen water in products (Embedded Virtual Water) has generated great interest in the scientific community. This water transfers between geographies via suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and customers in multiple phases. However, the Virtual Water Trading System lacks proper accounting standards, established protocols and processes in the context of product manufacturing. Therefore, there is a need to establish a technology platform to handle the complex virtual water international trade. Such a platform should uphold transparency and create ‘water consciousness’ and awareness among companies and consumers. The concept of a virtual water currency and blockchain technology platform together can manage these processes. Blockchain helps in setting up secure, verifiable, scalable and traceable systems. Blockchain manages the audit and contract management processes with ease. Virtual water currency is critical to advocate sustainability. The objective of this paper is to establish the key linkages between virtual water and usage of blockchain. A systematic literature survey was conducted on 16 journal repositories (153 journal papers) of IWA Publishing to establish virtual water linkages and five journal databases (IEEE Xplore, Sciencedirect, ACM Digital Library, Springer Link and Wiley Online Library covering 5026 journal papers) for blockchain and water management linkages. This study proposes to introduce virtual water currency and set up an International Virtual Water Trading System using blockchain. The proposed platform seamlessly integrates the quality, cost and sustainability of industrial products and their sub-components.

Career Planning is a continuous process of evaluating individual career goals through selfassessment, market research and objectively meeting the goals through continuous learning. In the context of Industry 4.0, career planning is not just limited to working professionals, but also plays a major role for the professional engineering students. Mentoring becomes a solid supporting prop to reach these goals systematically. It requires a philosophy, proper design of methodology, and organization structure. This study explores various factors driving career planning and mentoring in Four year UG Engineering Education. In this context, authors conducted literature survey and student's survey on 171 students to understand various factors, skill levels needed in designing career planning model and proposed mentoring model using Machine Learning Techniques (k-Means Clustering Algorithm). Further, authors surveyed 1525 students to understand career aspirations, designed Center for Career Planning organization and experimenting this model in a leading private group engineering college. Keywords: Career Planning ; Under Graduation Student Career Options; Skills for Engineering Students; Mentoring; Machine Learning.

The goal of DevOps is to cut down the project timelines, increase the productivity, and manage rapid development-deployment cycles without impacting business and quality. It requires efficient sprint management. The objective of this paper is to develop different sprint level project management tools for quick project level Go/No-Go decision making (using real-time projects data and machine learning), sprint estimation technique (gamified-consensus based), statistical understanding of overall project management maturity, project sentiment & perception. An attempt is made to device a model to calibrate the perception or the tone of a project culture using sentiment analysis.

Shorter time-to-market and unstable requirements is leading to introduction of Agile and DevOps practices. Story point estimation is becoming handier in Agile/DevOps setting. However, developing user stories and defining sizing unit in terms of story point is subjective process. It lacks benchmarking/standardization in terms of sizing measure and productivity of historical data. COSMIC has been considered as FSM (Functional Size Method). It has flexibility to receive requirements as User stories (popular Agile/Devops method) and derive COSMIC functional units using parametric approach. COSMIC method reduces the subjectivity and populates the productivity parameter for benchmarking. It standardizes the estimation process and can be easily deployed in Agile or DevOps setting. This paper presents the related work on linkages between User stories, COSMIC methods and traditional function point methods. It also presents the outcome of the industry survey conducted on 49 practitioners working in 10 different domains with respective to parametric estimation process adoption and presents 9 real-time case studies developed to demonstrate the usage of COSMIC method in various domains. This paper also attempts to derive mapping process of COSMIC functional process with User Stories with the help of 2 real-time industry case studies.

The advent of DevOps is to take full advantage of iterative model of development, bring agility in software development life cycle and achieve time to market goal. However, testing becomes roadblock and reduces the rate of speed. Hence, there is a critical need to strategize testing process and align it to continuous planning, continuous integration, continuous deployment and continuous monitoring, and feedback goals of DevOps practice. There is a vital difference between test automation and continuous testing. The former is subset of latter. Continuous testing identifies integration issues much earlier in the life cycle; makes defect resolution cheaper, faster; and frees tester’s precious time for exploratory testing and value-added test activities. This paper conducts literature survey on various strategies applied for continuous testing and proposes a continuous testing architecture for better implementation. It also presents the conceptual design of few important testing metrics for successful implementation of continuous testing function in the context of DevOps.

Objectives: Software testing is no more “Essential” requirement but it is “Critical” for the software application or product survival. It has become mental discipline and the tone of an organization mindset especially in the context of emerging DevOps practice. A few limitations of agile methodology from operational and business readiness perspective are addressed in DevOps. DevOps got emerged out of continuous software delivery which captures the market opportunities and reduces the feedback time. However, the new DevOps processes are influencing profoundly on QA and Testing functions. The present study is to understand different motivational factors driving testing in DevOps Environment and attempts to identify key technical, cultural and managerial factors of testing in DevOps setting. Methods/Statistical Analysis: We conducted extensive literature survey on academic and industry reports in the context of DevOps testing. Finally we screened 29 most relevant articles out of 295 found among 5 major journal databases. Further we extended manual survey including whitepapers and industry reports. Findings: It is evident that most of the articles connected to DevOps testing got published after year 2011 and surged after 2014. This phenomenon shows the nascence of the research progress in this domain. We observed that DevOps in testing is closely associated with automation of test cases. In its advanced stage, it is attributed to auto generation of test cases through model driven frameworks. This has been stressed in more than 50% of review articles. More than 50% of articles connected to cloud, virtualization, simulation techniques of DevOps Testing. The factors like agility, scale, metric driven process, reduction of complexity and cost appeared in more than 16 review articles. DevOps demands alternative metrics for better collaboration and communication between various stakeholders of the system. DevOps testing is face of organization culture and human resource mindset. This has been stressed in most of the review articles. Application/Improvements: This research is constrained from couple of biases (authority and publication). Research valued opinions of the other researchers. The search string used (DevOps Testing) may have multiple synonyms but we de-risked this threat by manually verifying each and every result. Further we extended manual survey using this search string.
