... Contemporary frameworks for understanding grief seek to both describe the universalities of loss and acknowledge the contextual variables that make each manifestation of grief unique. Rather than rigid phases in a sequential trajectory, mourning "tasks" are applicable to conceptualizing grief experiences and planning intervention (Worden & Winokuer, 2011).
