Charcot foot is a non-infectious and progressive foot disorder characterized by bone and joint destruction. It is strongly associated with neuropathy, especially diabetic peripheral neuropathy. There is a high probability of ulcer formation, which increases the risk of amputation. Patients with a Charcot foot have a physical dysfunction, which, in turn, has a negative influence on the emotional and social well-being of the patient. Therefore, it is important to treat the patient in an efficient and appropriate manner.
