In this study, the effects of the different membrane diluents, carriers and variations in the concentrations of the carriers on the sodium ion transport were examined in bulk liquid membrane systems. The kinetic analysis of the sodium ion transport in the liquid membrane was performed through the implementation of two consecutive kinetic equations of first order irreversible reactions and the relevant kinetic parameters (k1, k2a, k2a, Rmax, tmax,) were determined. Toluene, n-hexane, 1-octanol, chloroform and dichloromethane were used as membrane diluents, while 18crown6 (18C6), dicyclohexyl 18crown6 (DC18C6) and dibenzo 18crown6 (DB18C6) were used as carriers. The results reveal that the best sodium ion transport was realized when toluene-dichloromethane (90%-10%) was used as the membrane, and 1.10-3 M DB18C6 was used as the carrier.

Investigation of The Environmental Noise Pollution in Sivas City Centre Abstract This study presents the results of a research conducted on the environmental noise pollution in the Sivas city centre. In this respect, points at 20 different areas were selected for noise measurement at the Sivas city centre and in order to determine the noise levels of these areas, measurements were taken at 5 hour intervals over a period of one year, between 08:00 in the morning and 24:00 at night. The results of the measurements were used to calculate at LAeq (dBA) and furthermore the results of the measurements were shown to change on seasonal. According to the results, noise levels at the measurement points were aboveby 100% and more than the recommended limits of 65 dBA (Regulation on the Assessment and Management of Environmental Noise) and 55 dBA (WHO), respectively. These show that the levels of environmental noise pollution in the Sivas province city centre is extremely significant.

In this study, the effects of the acceptor phase and the donor phase properties on sodium ion transport were examined in bulk liquid membrane systems. In the experiments, toluene and a mixture of toluene–dichloromethane (90–10%, v/v) containing 1×10−3M DB18C6 (dibenzo18crown6) was used as the membrane. In order to examine the effects of different the acceptor phases, firstly H2SO4, HCl, HNO3, CH3COOH and distilled water were used as the acceptor phases. Furthermore, the experiments were performed by using various acid concentrations such as 2, 0.2 and 0.02M of acids, as the acceptor phase. In the second part of the study, the effect of donor phase on sodium ion transport was examined. For this examination, Na2SO4, NaNO3, NaOH and NaCl were applied. In order to determine the effect of the donor phase concentration, the experimentation was performed using 1.08×10−2, 2.17×10−2, 3.26×10−2 and 4.34×10−2M concentrations of Na+ in form of NaCl. Finally, nonsteady-state kinetics was applied on all data obtained from the experiments and reaction constants (k1, k2, and k3) and the values of the Rmax, tmax, k1/k2 were calculated. Consequently, it was determined that the type and the concentration of the acceptor phase and the donor phase solutions were significant for transport efficiency in liquid membrane systems. The most efficient transport was obtained by applying 2M H2SO4 and 2.17×10−2M Na+ in form of NaCl. Besides, It was observed that there was a significant effect of the anion attached to the cation on transport efficiency.

The problem of noise in the industries around Sivas has been examined in this study; and noise measurement and survey studies have been carried out at concrete traverse, cement, iron and steel and textile factories located in this region. A questionnaire was completed by 256 workers during this study in order to determine the physical, physiological, and psycho-social impacts of the noise on humans and to specify what kind of measurements have been taken both by the employers and workers for protection from the effects of noise. It has been specified, during the surveys, that the noise levels detected in all the industries are much above the 80 dBA that is specified in the regulations: 73.83% of the workers in these industries are disturbed from the noise in their workplaces, 60.96% of them have complaints about their nervous situations, 30.96% of these workers are suffering hearing problems although they had not had any periodical hearing tests and they are not using ear protection equipment.

... Sound levels are measured in many different areas, such as offices, urban environments, education and health institutions, and measures are to be taken. In a related study conducted in the city center of Sivas in Turkey, the highest monthly noise level was measured as 84.7 dBA in September, and the lowest noise level as 69.3 in April and October (Özyonar and Peker, 2008). Although these values are dangerous for human health, they also exceed the noise levels in the regulations. ...

... Zaw et al. (2020) stated that 66.4 % of the employees in the textile industry plant were exposed to noise above 85 dB(A) and determined the prevalence of hearing loss among the employees as 25.7 % with hearing tests. Atmaca et al. (2005) determined that the employees in the textile and cement factory were exposed to very high noise levels with the acoustic measurements they applied in different plants. In particular, they determined that 60 % of those working in the textile industry were exposed to noise at a maximum level of 106 dB(A). ...
