The object of the given study was to show informative value of pelvic sonography and MRI in preoperative diagnostics of ovarian endometriosis. For this purpose 105 patients were evaluated with transabdominal (TAS) and transvaginal sonography (TVS), and 54 of them underwent MRI. The result of both methods were compared with the outcome of the subsequent surgery. It was revealed that MRI is more informative than ultrasound particularly in cases of small ovarian masses (less than 35 mm). Thus, it is recommended to expand preoperative examination in cases when endometriosis is suspected to MRI.
