ANALELE UNIVERSITĂȚII DIN CRAIOVA SERIA ȘTIINȚE FILOLOGICE LIMBI STRĂINE APLICATE

Our article examines the difficulties encountered by foreign students in learning the Romanian language, particularly the most common grammatical accord errors. These mistakes can be mainly attributed to a lack of language proficiency, as well as to the peculiarities of the Romanian morphological system. The accord between the predicate and subject, as well as between the adjective and the governing term, are among the most frequent sources of grammatical errors for foreign students. The accord between the predicate and subject can be challenging to learn due to the homonymy between the verb forms for the third person singular and plural in Romanian. Additionally, word order in the sentence can contribute to confusion and errors. Regarding the accord of the adjective with the regent term, neglecting this agreement can affect the correct understanding and interpretation of the message conveyed. We highlight that interference with the native/international language, the complexity of the Romanian grammatical system, and lack of practice are among the main reasons for these errors. In the final part of the article, we discuss errors related to the use of the adverb, such as false agreement in the construction of the relative superlative and treating the adverb as an adjective, especially when used as a determinant of a proper adjective or participial nature, in the plural number. To avoid these agreement mistakes, it is necessary for students to know very well the differences between flexible and inflexible parts of speech and to pay special attention to the context in which these parts are used in sentences

ANALELE UNIVERSITĂȚII DIN CRAIOVA SERIA ȘTIINȚE FILOLOGICE LIMBI STRĂINE APLICATE

"The starting point of this article is the acquisition of the threshold level by foreign students in a university situation in the preparatory year. In this sense, we will deal with the formulas of thanks and apologies, which help to carry out these everyday speech acts that are not always treated with their just importance. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) feeds and develops the communicative approach in language teaching and learning, providing a common basis for the development of programs for the learning of the Romanian language by foreign students, emphasizing the knowledge and skills they need to acquire in order to have an effective linguistic behavior."

ANALELE UNIVERSITĂȚII DIN CRAIOVA SERIA ȘTIINȚE FILOLOGICE LIMBI STRĂINE APLICATE

Our article, “Use of chromatic adjectives and chromatic epithets in The Wonderful Grove story” examines the way in which qualifying adjectives reflect Mihail Sadoveanu’s subjectivity in this literary piece. We aim at identifying, classifying and analyzing the most frequently used qualifying adjectives in this story, namely the adjectives of colour. The epithet is the most significant stylistic figure of the adjective of colour. The chromatic adjectival semantics are wide and varied in The Wonderful Grove story. The chromatic epithet was used for descriptive and visual purposes; in this case, wiht special artistic value. Mihail Sadoveanu has a mature writing style, creating his own literary universe, avoiding exaggerations, by balancing well and calculating the use of chromatic adjectives and epithets.
