These patterns of security arrangement in Africa deal with a wide range of issues tailored around the resolution and management of conflicts and other multiple threats and threat perceptions in the continent. Most countries in the continent have experienced several cases and incidences of conflicts and insecurity ranging from Civil Wars, coups and counter-coups, inter-ethnic conflicts, inter-religious conflicts, and politically instigated and instrumentalised conflicts (Adebajo, 2002;Baumann & Clayton, 2017;Fitz-Gerald, 2017).
