The study was conducted to assess the level of knowledge among the first and second-year MBBS students with regards to sexual jurisprudence and emphasis on rape laws in India. A questionnaire-based cross-sectional survey was conducted among 274 randomly selected students of first-year MBBS (100) and second-year MBBS (174) in Tertiary care teaching hospital, India. The questionnaire comprised of 7 items of a fixed-response type (yes/no). There was a discrepancy between the levels of knowledge among students. This study also provides valuable insight into how much knowledge has been acquired by the students regarding laws in India on rape. We recommend the upcoming doctors to be competent enough to handle a case of sexual offence (rape) with the understanding of the amendments made to criminal law.

International Journal of Scientific Research

Introduction: Craniofacial anthropometry deals with the dimensions of head and face. Based on these measurements race and sex can be determined. To determine the predominant head type in males and females from Tamil Nadu in India and also compare this study with other similar studies done in different Indian populations. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among medical students in a Tertiary care teaching hospital. A total of 500 subjects (246 males and 254 females), above 18 years was studied. Cephalic indices of all the subjects were analyzed based on Martin & Saller method. Results: Mesocephalic/medium head type was predominant in both males (45.53%) and females (47.24%). Conclusion: This study might serve as the basis of comparison for future studies on the cephalic index using Martin& Saller classification on other regional Indian population.

ABSTRACT Background: We tried to assess the awareness and knowledge among first and second year MBBS students, with regards to sexual harassment, voyeurism and stalking. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire-based cross-sectional survey was conducted among 274 randomly selected students of first-year MBBS (100) and second-year MBBS (174) in Tertiary care teaching hospital, India. The questionnaire comprised of 10 items of a fixed-response type (yes/no). Results: There was a disparity between the levels of knowledge with regards to sexual harassment, stalking and voyuerism among students. The study provides valuable insight into how much awareness and knowledge students have regarding this issue. Conclusion: We recommend undergraduate MBBS should be thought in a proper way on this important issue, so it would be helpful for them in handling such cases in future. We recommend that the medical students should be kept updated about the criminal laws in connection with medical practice. KEYWORDS : sexual harassment; criminal amendment act; stalking; voyeurism.

E-learning is the use of electronic technology to deliver the knowledge to the learners. Computer assisted learning, web-based learning is other names for E-learning. It may be synchronous learning or asynchronous learning or a combination of both which is called blended learning technology. After selecting the topic for E-learning, E-module is prepared which has along with the matter to be learnt, combination of audio, video & animations which helps to make it interesting & easy to understand. Such E-modules are utilized for conducting practical, tutorials or as case simulation mode to learn various problem-solving skills like diagnosis & management of patient. Learning with help of computers helps to overcome geographical restrictions & results in be􀄴 er retention of the contents and it’s mainly a student-centred activity. This article explores efficacy of E-learning with respect to medical education in India& along with its advantages & disadvantages.

Measuring the stature from cephalic length has been done innumerable times through a multitude of population. However there is a need for race, age, sex specific stature estimation formula for each population. We studied 305 medical undergraduate students (142 males and 163 females) who were born and brought up in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh (Southern part of India) and were between the age group of 18 to 22 years. In males, stature ranges from 154.7 cm to 188.0 cm with a mean value of 172.42cm. The stature in females ranges from 146.0 cm to 175.0 cm with mean value of 158.83cm. In males, head length varied from 16.4 cm to 22.0 cm with mean value of 18.49 cm. Whereas, in females, length of head varied from 15.7 cm to 19.7 cm with mean value of 17.45 cm. The regression equations were derived, separate for male and female subjects, as well as for the combined data. Highly significant correlation was observed between stature and head length (p< 0.001). The present research indicates that forensic experts can estimate stature from cephalic length in situations where only the cephalo-facial remains are available for forensic examination.

Objectives: To find the association of ratio of second digit (2D) to fourth digit (4D) lengths (2D:4D ratio) with gender among South Indian medical students. Materials and method: 2D and 4D lengths (right hand) of 316 medical students both male and female from IInd MBBS aged between 18 to 21 years were taken using digital vernier callipers. 2D:4D ratios were calculated by dividing 2D length by 4D length. Results: Statistically significant difference was found between 2D:4D ratios of male and female students. 2D:4D ratio of males was lesser than 2D:4D ratio of females. Conclusion: 2D:4D ratio could be used as a gender determinant in South Indian population as agreed upon by other studies in India.

Background: Craniofacial anthropometry deals with the dimensions of head and face. Based on these measurements race and sex can be determined. Objective: To correlate the concurrence of the head and facial type, and to determine the predominant head and facial type in males and females from southern parts of India. Materials and Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among medical students in a Medical College Puducherry, India. A total of 195 subjects (105 males and 90 females), above 18 years were studied. Cephalic and facial indices of all the subjects were analyzed based on Martin & Saller method. Results: There is no correlation between head types and facial types. However, Mesocephalic/medium head type was predominant in both males (44.76%) and females(48.89%) type. In the case of facial types, leptoprosopic/narrow face (30.48%) in males and hyper leptoprosopic/very narrow face (35.56%) was the most predominant in females. Conclusion: This study not only appreciated the prevalence of the cephalic and facial phenotypes but also found the concurrence of both these phenotypes in males © 2019, Indian Journal of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. ... As present study individuals are exposed to quite different environmental, genetic and climatic conditions than their neighbouring population groups, so they are expected to have distinct bodily features and proportions/dimensions, morphological facial features and behavioural adjustments. Various studies have reported wide variations in cephalometric features of two sexes among different Indian population groups [3,[15][16][17][18][19][20]; but no such study was accessible in the literature to report such differences in cephalometric features of Kargil individuals; also, no population specific discriminant function equations have been suggested for the target population groups of Kargil. Present study was formulated to study sexual differences in the cephalometric features of Brokpas and Purigpas and to develop statistical equation for sex and stature estimation of unknown individuals whose remains are found in forensic anthropological and bioarchaeological context. ...
