Increased community mobility at night demands adequate public street lighting facilities. This is related to the security and safety of road users. Unfortunately, public street lighting is often constrained by electricity supply problems that are far from wired electricity networks. As experienced by Kranggan Tengah hamlet in Galur Kulon Progo, some roads do not have public street lighting. Whereas, currently solar-powered electricity technology has become an alternative to wired electricity networks. In addition, the knowledge and understanding of the community about solar power plants is still very limited. For this reason, through community empowerment activities, socialization is carried out on the introduction of solar power plants to provide education and alternatives to meet community electricity needs. The results of this community empowerment activity show an increase in community knowledge and understanding about solar power plants and the benefits that can be felt by using this solar power plant
