Comments on and extends R. H. Pate and H. J. High's (1995) findings on spirituality and religion in CACREP-accredited programs by adding data and discussion that compare the attention to spiritual and religious issues in accredited or nonaccredited counselor training programs. The authors believe that accreditation standards for counselor preparation have the potential for bringing the appropriate consideration of religious and spiritual issues into the training of counselors.
