IntroductionDental impression compound is a rigid impression material mainly used for prosthetic work in dentistry. It is usually manipulated in a temperature controlled water or air bath.Materials and methodsWhen there is a fracture of bilateral parasymphysis there are chances lingual splaying and thus causing hampering of occlusion and function for the patient. Conclusion Thus, we propose that impression compound is a quick, economical option for prevention of lingual splaying during bilateral parasymphysis fracture reduction. The hardened impression compound will act as a lingual splint in order to prevent splaying of the lingual cortical bone which will help in ease of fracture reduction of bilateral parasymphyseal region.

Automation helps in the accurate and speedy processing of data. Health care and medicine are fields that need zero error assessment as any error can lead to life or death. The human mind is a complex machine beyond our imagination, but it too suffers from fatigue and may result in errors. The advantages of machines are that they do not fall to fatigue how many ever times the task is repeated. The field of Medicine has adapted to the technological advances in information technology and has widely benefitted from this automation bandwagon. The concept of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence has revolutionized health care as they try to minimize human errors. This section deals with such a concept used in age estimation using MATLAB and Excel VBA in health care. The automation brought about consistent results with less manual intervention and can be applied to various facets of health care.
