La atención a la diversidad en cuanto a distintas lenguas en convivencia en el aula, los patrones de interacción en el aula multicultural han preocupado a investigadores de nuestra disciplina, hasta el punto de diseñar, como en Atkinson et al. (2006), acciones de formación específicas para el profesorado que ha de desenvolverse en un nuevo entorno de trabajo. Otra línea de trabajo es la que ha intentado discernir aquellos resultados de aprendizaje más estrechamente ligados a esta extendida práctica en la formación de traductores que supone la movilidad (Kelly 2005(Kelly , 2008Kelly et al. 2007;; Morón 2010), y han destacado el impacto en competencias transversales, pero también específicas, del traductor e intérprete maximizadas gracias a la experiencia de contacto internacional.
