Several groups worldwide are developing guidelines and standards for mitigating cybersecurity risks with some measures to help businesses better prepare their computers and networks to prevent unwanted break-ins. The Center for Internet Security (CIS) has introduced guidelines and benchmarks listings of specific settings for several commonly used operating systems. CIS plans to continue to introduce benchmarks and invites chemical companies in their development. The 30 Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's (OECD) OECD member governments designed the voluntary guidelines 'to instill a culture of security among governments, businesses, and users in an environment of worldwide expansion of communication networks'.
