... Among interactional features, lapses are positively correlated with AD, indicating that patients find trouble continuing topics, resulting in delays with interviewers initiating a new topic. Attributable silence (AS) duration is also positively correlated with AD, showing that AD patients exhibit more silences in response to questions; this fits with the findings of CA studies in the literature that this form of silence serves as a dispreferred response in communication [22,32].
