Neobythites sivicola (Jordan and Snyder, 1901) is a demersal fish of the family Ophidiidae, mainly inhabiting the deep sea near the Kuroshio Warm Current control area in the tropical and warm temperate zone of the Northwest Pacific (Li and Zhang 2011). It is a common species with certain economic value, and can be caught by bottom trawling, longline fishing, and other fishing methods throughout the year (Nielsen et al. 1999). Neobythites sivicola generally feeds on small fish and crustaceans, and is oviparous with oval pelagic eggs floating in a gelatinous mass (Breder 1966). ...
