To compare the absorbing properties of different microwave absorbent and their mixture, firstly using Maxwell-Garnett (MG) formula the effective electromagnetic parameter was calculated of the mixture of X band resistance-type carbon fiber absorbent and magnetic dielectric type ferrite absorbent in different proportion, and their absorbing properties analyzed. Then the resistance matching character and attenuation coefficient of the materials were compared, which proves that adding carbon fiber in ferrite cannot improve absorption properties. Although the ability of attenuation would be enhanced when the resistance materials and magnetic materials are mixed with each other, doping will destroy the materials' resistance matching character because the resistance materials have high permittivity. It makes reflection increase and cannot improve absorbing properties.
