Linnaeus (1759) description of this species includes a short protologue with only a few diagnostic characters, which could be applied to a wide range of species within this section. Although he subsequently partially clarified the description of this species, he also states that it occurs in many regions, including Austria, Italy, Siberia and the Orient (Linnaeus 1762). ...
