This paper aims to investigate the outlook of energy generation by means of transformation within the context of sustainable energy development. An analysis is conducted to assess the stability of energy systems so to implement cutting-edge energy production models at the national level, with a focus on a contemporary approach to energy modeling. Considering the energy transition and the existing constraints within the energy industry, the model assesses the feasibility of the practical advancement of renewable energy sources. The bottom-up energy model was used to determine how the components of energy development sustainability can be applied until the year 2050. To perform comparison testing with the reference state scenario, the LEAP energy model was used. This instrument was selected because of its ability to provide flexible and advanced options for selecting suitable parameters for energy transformation prediction. A progressive reduction in environmental pollution can be achieved by the deployment of current methods of energy generation by transformation until the year 2050 in Serbia, as indicated by the findings. The research highlights the significance of utilizing green energy sources for the continuing development of energy and the gradual reduction in environmental pollution through value co-creation.

In order to define an appropriate energy regulatory policy at the state level, encourage energy efficiency, control the level of final energy consumption and select production technologies, it is important to choose an adequate approach to energy modeling. Hence, this paper will focus on the overview of the most important energy modelling tools. Energy models can be developed for efficient forecasting, planning, design, operation and optimization of energy systems. The heterogeneity of applied energy models and the energy scenarios defined in them require specific, technically advanced skills for an adequate assessment of movements in such a multidisciplinary discipline. The paper analyzes crucial differences between tools, giving an useful insight in contemporary research of energy efficiency projections. A overview of these tools is essential for sustainable energy development and efficient business of energy companies. A comparative comparison of energy modelling tools is also shown, with the intention of pointing out the importance of all models and their differences, in order to indicate which area of investigation is especially significant for a particular model.

In the conditions of modern business environment of energy companies, studies of their impact on environmental protection are becoming increasingly important. The growing concern at the macro level of the resulting climate change due to energy production is justified. The ecological component in the business of energy entities is becoming a priority for the sustainable development of energy, and therefore must be thoroughly examined. The focus of this paper is to determine the impact of energy on climate change through the emission of Greenhouse Gases on the example of the Republic of Serbia. The paper also examines the long-term interdependence between key economic and energy indicators at the national level. The IPAT/Kaya identity was used for research purposes and three alternative scenarios of energy development in Serbia until year 2050 were developed. The obtained results point to different possibilities for the development of energy and its impact on climate. The importance of promoting renewable energy sources for environmental protection and overall economic stability is also pointed out through proposed alternative scenarios. Significant results were obtained for the predicted level of energy intensity for the observed period, suggesting how the development of energy in Serbia could affect economic stability until 2050.

The Possibility of Implementing Blockchain Technology within Energy Companies

In the energy industry, contemporary solutions are constantly applied and are always welcome if they reduce the total operating costs of power plants or affect the reduction of environmental pollution. In addition to smart processes for the production of electricity and heat, the change in the relationship between energy producers and consumers is also observed through the framework of innovative blockchain technology. Given that the energy sector is very complex and that there are many actors in the electricity supply chain, it is very difficult to ensure transparent and reliable monitoring of the activities of all participants. Intermediaries are also involved in the energy trading process, whose business engagement contributes to the increase in the price of energy for end users. Blockchain technology has the potential to increase the transparency of monitoring energy flows within the supply chain and to ensure a higher degree of trust between participants in the electricity market. Consequently, this paper provides an overview of the possibilities of applying modern principles of blockchain technology within the business of companies from the energy sector. The paper systematically describes the way in which the blockchain affects the improvement of business performance of energy companies with the aim of solving the most important energy challenges of today, such as doing business in the conditions of the energy crisis and reducing the negative impacts of climate change.

Analyzing the costs of renewable energy companies proved to be of high importance for the business sustainability and a long term economic feasibility. The paper gives an insight of relevant cost management methodologies with aspects of the future investment potential within this subfield of energy economics. Having in mind that fossil fuels have still a substantial impact on global warming potential of the energy sector, modern approach to cost analysis of renewable energy deployment is necessary. Several methodologies are emphasized, with special reference to changes in total costs for these companies. Methods that include intangible costs and specific market conditions are used, as it is noticed that these are often empirically neglected. The paper investigates how the control of costs and dynamics of the cost as main categories are significant for overall business sustainability. Results indicate that managing costs of renewable energy companies is a challenging process. However, if there is an appropriate method applied, results show that cost management is one of the most essential tools for a sustainable development of renewable energy companies.KeywordsCost managementRenewable energy companiesSustainable energy business

... This prediction considers new trends in the energy sector and the delay in implementing energy strategies. Furthermore, the reference scenario suggests that there will be a rise in the value of accessible power because of conversion, with the prevalence of environmentally harmful fuels still prevailing, which affects the overall economic stability [41]. The model demonstrates that the official data entered regarding planned capital investments in the energy sector may potentially improve the relatively low operational efficiency of thermal power plants and combined heat and power facilities, which typically have a maximum availability rate of over 80%. ...
