In science and especially in medicine, ebooks have become more and more important during the last years. Having a cooperation with the author of one of the leading books of internal medicine in Germany, the idea came up to publish his book in a version for PDA. As by now, there is no satisfying solution for this. The existing products are either made for belletristic or they have no sufficient copy protection or both. This led to the decision of creating an own software to meet market needs. The result of this process is SciReader (short form for "scientific ebook reader"), a software for the technique of the new millennium.
