The inadequate science literacy and numeracy levels of class X students in the 2021/2022 academic year at SMA Negeri 1 Ajibarang in physics learning, particularly in the domain of renewable energy materials, can be attributed to the limited engagement of science literacy and numeracy in the available learning media. The internet's potential as a learning tool has not been maximally utilized, resulting in a suboptimal learning experience for Generation Z students. In addition, some digital platforms commonly used by teachers are still not optimal in accommodating learning due to several weaknesses, such as limited material and interactive features, as well as information that is prone to being missed during the online discussion process through chat. These problems can be solved by utilizing Nearpod-based interactive learning media. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the media and compare which media exploration is considered most effective in enhancing students' science literacy and numeracy. The study employed a pre-experimental approach, utilizing a pre-test and post-test design with three experimental groups. The results indicated that experimental groups A, B, and C enhanced science literacy and numeracy. The N-gain scores of these groups were classified as 'low', with N-gain scores of 0.15, 0.13, and 0.07, respectively, for experimental groups A, B, and C regarding science literacy. The numeracy literacy of experimental groups A, B, and C were 0.20, 0.18, and 0.01, respectively. The conclusion drawn from these data is that Nearpod media is effective in enhancing science literacy and numeracy in the context of renewable energy, especially in the explanation of scientific phenomena in science literacy and the utilization of concepts, facts, procedures, and reasoning in mathematics in numeracy literacy. The utilization of Nearpod in blended learning is more efficacious than its use in flipped learning and print, with an N-gain value of science literacy and numeracy. Pembelajaran kelas rangkap adalah model pembelajaran yang diterapkan untuk mengatasi kekurangan guru, siswa, dan fasilitas, terutama di daerah terpencil dengan sumber daya terbatas. pembelajaran kelas rangkap memungkinkan satu guru untuk mengajar beberapa tingkat kelas secara bersamaan serta meningkatkan akses pendidikan dan efisiensi penggunaan sumber daya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model pembelajaran kelas rangkap dengan mengintegrasikan konsep dan strategi pembelajaran inovatif, serta teknik manajemen kelas yang efektif dan adaptif. Metode yang digunakan adalah tinjauan pustaka, dengan menganalisis artikel jurnal yang terpilih dari berbagai jurnal ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kelas rangkap memerlukan strategi pengajaran adaptif seperti pengajaran kolaboratif dan penggunaan bahan ajar lokal. Keterlibatan komunitas dan pelatihan guru memainkan peran penting dalam keberhasilan penerapan model ini. Tantangan signifikan termasuk manajemen waktu dan fasilitas yang terbatas manjadi faktor utama. Akan tetapi PKR telah terbukti meningkatkan keterampilan sosial dan kemandirian siswa. Kesimpulannya, penerapan PKR dapat menjadi solusi yang efektif jika didukung oleh strategi manajemen yang cermat dan kebijakan pendidikan yang mendukung, terutama di daerah dengan akses terbatas seperti daerah 3T.


Development of STEM Based Physics E-Modul with Virtual Lab to Improve Learning Outcomes

The Merdeka curriculum organizes the physics subject into concept understanding and science process skills. However, based on interviews and observations at MAN IC Pekalongan, the development of process skills in physics learning is rarely facilitated due to the limited availability of learning media and time. This RnD research aims to develop digital learning media as an alternative solution to these problems. The analysis of learning media needs showed that teachers and students need Interactive E-Modules as learning media, applications of physics in everyday life such as STEM, and a Virtual Lab packaged with interactive and simple language. The E-Module was validated by several experts in material, learning media, and learning and was declared highly feasible with an average score of 4.5 out of 5. The posttest results showed an average score of 59.67 for both the experimental and control classes. The n-gain analysis demonstrated that the E-Module effectively improved conceptual understanding, with an n-gain value of 0.74 (high), and had a positive effect on process skills with an average value of 87.86 for the experimental class and 86.44 for the control class, with a significance value of 0.032 in the independent sample test of both classes.

Problem-based learning as a learning model that challenges students in analysis and critical thinking when facing problems related to the material being taught. This study aims to determine how the application of problem-based learning can improve elementary school students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The method used in this study is the literature study method. A qualitative approach is applied in this study. Data collection was carried out through literature reflection, with a focus on searching for scientific articles that are relevant to the research context. After analyzing ten journal articles, it was found that the application of the problem-based learning model had a positive effect on improving mathematical problem-solving abilities at various levels of elementary school, both in lower and upper grades. The results of this study confirm that the use of problem-based learning can improve elementary school students' abilities in solving mathematical problems and has the potential to improve students' academic achievement Keyword: PBL, Problem Solving, Mathematics, Studi Literature Abstrak: Problem based learning sebagai model pembelajaran menantang siswa dalam analitis dan berpikir kritis saat menghadapi masalah terkait dengan materi yang diajarkan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tinjauan literatur, dengan fokus pada penelusuran artikel-artikel ilmiah yang relevan dengan konteks penelitian. Setelah menganalisis sepuluh artikel jurnal, ditemukan bahwa penerapan model problem based learning memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika di berbagai tingkatan sekolah dasar, baik itu di kelas rendah maupun di tingkat kelas tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penggunaan problem based learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa sekolah dasar dalam memecahkan masalah matematika dan berpotensi meningkatkan pencapaian akademik siswa. Keinginan belajar memiliki pengaruh penting dalam pembelajaran untuk mengembangkan kompetensi anak. Penelitian tindakan kelas tersebut memiliki maksud untuk memperbaiki keinginan murid kelas 5 UPTD. SDN 10 Kotapinang untuk belajar matematika. Subjek pengkajian adalah murid kelas 5 berjumlah 39 murid. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi kuesioner, observasi, interview, dan dokumentasi.Metode ulasan data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Pengkajian dikerjakan dalam 2 fase, terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil pengkajian ini mengindikasikan bahwa perbaikan keinginan murid dalam pelajaran melalui implementasi proses belajar berdiferensiasi melalui dukungan media quizizz di UPTD. SD Negeri 10 Kotapinang Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Selatan pada kegiatan pra fase dilaksanakan, tingkat capaian keinginan mempelajari matematika murid ada di posisi level dibawah ekspektasi dengan capaian sebesar 13%. Pada fase pertama, motivasi murid untuk belajar matematika meningkat sebesar 77%, tetapi tidak mencapai standar capaian yang diharapkan. Melalui fase kedua, motivasi murid untuk belajar matematika meningkat sebesar 85%. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, bisa dikatakan implementasi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dengan dukungan quizizz mampu menambah keinginan murid untuk mempelajari matematika. Desire to learn has an important influence in learning to develop children's competence. The purpose of the class action research was to improve the desire of students in grade 5 UPTD. SDN 10 Kotapinang to learn math. The subjects of the study were 5th grade students totaling 39 students. Data collection methods used included questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data review methods were qualitative and quantitative. The assessment was conducted in 2 phases, consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of this study indicate that the improvement of students' interest in learning through the implementation of a differentiated learning process through the support of quizizz media at UPTD. SD Negeri 10 Kotapinang, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency in the pre-phase activities carried out, the level of achievement of students' desire to learn mathematics was at a level below expectations with an achievement of 13%. In the first phase, students' motivation to learn math increased by 77%, but did not reach the expected standard of achievement. Through the second phase, students' motivation to learn math increased by 85%. Based on this, it can be said that the implementation of differentiated learning with the support of quizizzes can increase students' desire to learn mathematics.

Pembelajaran yang berkualitas merupakan kegiatan edukatif yang mampu mewujudkan target pendidikan yang dirumuskan oleh pengajar. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilaksanakan di kelas IV UPTD. SD Negeri 26 Teluk Panji I ditemukan bahwa pencapaian hasil belajar para murid belum memenuhi standar yang ditargetkan. Berkaitan dengan kondisi ini, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan model PBL dengan bantuan media audio visual. Penelitian ini dikategorikan sebagai penelitian tindakan kelas yang mengikutsertakan subjek penelitian yaitu murid kelas IV UPTD. SD Negeri 26 Teluk Panji I yang berjumlah 25 orang. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini direalisasikan menggunakan observasi, tes hasil belajar, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis informasi diimplementasikan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PBL dengan bantuan media audio visual berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, mengingat melalui model pembelajaran dan dukungan media tersebut, para siswa memperlihatkan minat yang lebih besar dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Peningkatan hasil belajar tergambar melalui peningkatan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh peserta didik dimulai dari prasiklus yang menunjukkan angka 28%, selanjutnya pada siklus I mengalami kenaikan hingga 64%, dan akhirnya pada siklus II berkembang mencapai 88%. Mengacu pada data tersebut, dapat dirumuskan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan dukungan media audio visual terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia untuk peserta didik kelas IV UPTD. Penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis augmented reality (AR) semakin banyak digunakan, terutama di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan gambaran mengenai pengembangan aplikasi berbasis AR dalam pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah systematic review dengan melakukan pencarian artikel ilmiah yang bersumber dari google scholar melalui Publish or Perish dengan kata judul pengembangan aplikasi berbasis augmented reality dalam pembelajaran di sekolah dasar pada rentang tahun 2020 sampai 2024. Artikel yang telah diperoleh adalah 770 artikel yang kemudian diekstraksi untuk mendapatkan artikel yang fokus dan relevan dengan topik kajian. Setelah proses ekstraksi, didapati 25 artikel yang relevan dengan topik kajian. Hasil analisis mengungkapkan terdapat beragam model dalam penelitian dan pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis augmented reality dalam rentang waktu tahun 2020-2024, yang meliputi model ADDIE, Lee & Owens, MDLC (Multimedia Design Life Cycle), SDLC (Software Design Life Cycle), Incremental, Waterfall, prototype model, Sugiyono, serta Borg & Gall. Melalui model-model penelitian dan pengembangan tersebut, seluruh media pembelajaran berbasis augmented reality yang dianalisis dinyatakan valid dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran.


Investigating misconceptions about acids and bases among pre-service science teachers

This study examines prevalent misconceptions among students regarding the fundamental concepts of acids and bases, which often arise during the learning process. This study aims to pinpoint misconceptions held by pre-service science teachers in the realm of acids and bases; 117 university students from diverse educational backgrounds, enrolled in three distinct courses: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics from the Faculty of Education, participated in the study. Using a structured questionnaire, the research identified 11 misconceptions out of 26 items related to acid and base concepts among pre-service teachers, while 15 items showed a correct understanding. Notably, three misconceptions exhibit the highest prevalence, namely the universal indicator of strong alkali (71.7%), the calculation-related concentration of acids and bases (69.3%), and the procedural steps for preparing a solution with a specified concentration using the dilution method (65.8%). The analysis indicates that although pre-service teachers generally understand acid and base concepts well, some misconceptions persist. Additionally, correlations between gender, university major, and understanding of these concepts were found. Further global research is recommended to identify misconceptions among university students. Comprehensive research in Malaysia could help educators and students address these misconceptions in Chemistry education.

Renewable energy is a global concern and should be incorporated into education to raise awareness among younger generations, including in physics education. Educators have made various efforts to raise awareness of the importance of pursuing renewable energy. A breakthrough sought in this research is to incorporate collaborative learning into the science-technology-engineering-art-mathematics (STEAM) approach. Integrating STEAM into collaborative learning can simultaneously develop critical and creative thinking skills by exploring local resources to become renewable energy sources. The research involved 36 high school students who met the criteria for having a smartphone and accessing a reliable internet connection. These conditions are designed to facilitate students' producing essays and posters exploring renewable energy sources in their local area. The research design employs a one-group pretest-posttest approach to assess the effectiveness of this STEAM-based collaborative learning process. The data collected from tests that have undergone t-tests and N-gain analysis, triangulated with observation data and questionnaires, illustrates the progress made in improving students' critical and creative thinking abilities. In conclusion, the implementation of STEAM-based collaborative learning demonstrates the highest level of achievement in creative thinking. It enables the production of innovative mini-projects that critically analyze local resources available for national energy sources.


Higher order thinking skills research trends: a bibliometric analysis in selected journals (2014 to 2023)

p>This article aims to analyze the trend of higher order thinking skills (HOTS) research in selected journals, namely Journal of Research in Science Teaching (JRST), International Journal of Science Education (IJSE) and Review of Educational Research (RER) through bibliometrics on the Scopus database from 2014 to 2023. The articles consist of a total of 947, then divided into 333 articles analyzed, with details of JRST 113 articles, IJSE 130 articles and RER 90 articles. The method used in this research is article analysis using bibliometric stages, followed by keyword search, initial search results, correction of search results, initial data compilation and data analysis. The results showed that the publication of scientific articles in selected journals on HOTS varied from year to year. The results of this study are expected to help other researchers who are interested in reviewing and researching research trends related to HOTS in selected journals and to recommend further research directions.</p
