WeForest (www.weforest.org) is an international non-profit organization working on large-scale Forest and Landscape Restoration (FLR) programs. The mission of the organization is to advance innovative, scalable and long lasting solutions to restore degraded forest and landscapes for climate, people and planet. We promote scientific evidence for the ways in which forests contribute to climate change mitigation, beyond their impacts as stocks of carbon, by increasing water availability, enhancing local cooling and improve rural livelihood and resilience. In Ethiopia, WeForest has engaged in large-scale FLR Programs in Northern Ethiopia which able to restore more than 7,000 ha and support over 5,000 households in sustainable income only between 2017 and 2020. This supports the country's Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) strategy and Growth Transformation Plan (GTP) achievement that harness sustainable forest management, utilization, and improve social capital in the country. https://www.tropenbos.org/file.php/2480/dryland-restoration-and-dry-forest-management-ethiopia-online.pdf
