The grape is one of the economically important fruits. But the Grape orchards are more susceptible to different pathogens which cause major losses to the farmers. Among all pathogens, fungal pathogens are a major cause of damage e.g. Downy mildew, Powdery mildew, Anthracnose, Greenaria bitter rot, Black mold rot, Botrytis bunch rot, Rust and Rhizopus rot, etc. This disease causes major economic losses to the Farmers. Here we discussed about a highly efficient and affordable paper microscope called Foldscope. Foldscope is a simple but powerful instrument that can be used in general to observe living and non-living things; it is a simple and easy diagnostic tool that helps in classroom teaching and also in research laboratories. Using a Foldscope in Plant pathology is not a traditional way to diagnose. Foldscope helps to diagnose disease in laboratories and also helps in on field studies. This saves time, and fresh samples give the best results. However, once the disease has spread to crops, it becomes very difficult to control. Disease diagnosis should. Foldscope can become alternative tool to conventional microscopes. It can be done at an early stage of development. However, additional research is needed.
