Peptic ulcer is one of the most common gastrointestinal problems diagnosed all over the world. The aim of the present study is to develop floating microballoons of Rhynchosia densiflora (Roth) DC leaf extract and to evaluate its peptic ulcer activity. An ethanolic extract of R. densiflora (Roth) DC leaves was prepared by Soxhlet extraction and subjected to phytochemical analysis. Microballoons loaded with ethanolic extract of R. densiflora leaf were developed by solvent evaporation method and characterized by optical microscopy, floating time, and release characteristics. Acute oral toxicity study of microballons was carried out following OECD guidelines 423 and antiulcer activity was performed by pylorus ligation, indo-methacin and cystamine induced duodenal ulcer methods. R. densiflora extract was found to contain glyco-sides, proteins, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, tannins and saponins. The particle size of microballoons of R. densiflora extract was found to be in the range of 300 μm. Acute toxicity studies of microballoons did not produce any toxic symptoms and mortality in animals, hence 100 and 200 mg/kg concentrations were selected to screen antiulcer activity. Both the doses showed significant gastric ulcer healing effect and gastric antisecretory effect in pylorus ligated rats, gastric cytoprotective effect in indomethacin induced gastric ulcer and also produced a significant reduction in duodenal ulcers. Dose of 200 mg/kg showed highly significant antiulcer activity than 100 mg/kg. Thus, it is concluded that floating microballoons loaded with R. densiflora extract significantly reduced gastric acid secretion, increased healing of gastric ulcers and also prevent the duodenal ulcers in rats.

Angina pectoris affects about 9 million people in the U.S. with the most frequent symptom. Developing techniques to improve the management of chronic stable angina remains a priority. Obesity, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, a smoking history, and a family history of chronic renal disease are all potential causesThe majority of persons with angina have one or more substantially constricted epicardial coronary arteries. A less common cause is coronary artery vasospasm .Cold weather, activity, or medications that induce vasoconstriction, such as alpha-agonists, can produce spasms. Myocardial ischaemia may continue or return in a small percentage of people after successful coronary revascularization. Maintaining or achieving a healthy weight is crucial. In high-risk individuals, a 'Mediterranean diet' supplemented with extra-virgin olive oil or almonds decreases MACE. Exercise can help alleviate discomfort and improve the prognosis. Managing or lowering heart rate spikes is critical in the treatment of angina pectoris. For AP patients, SIHD treatment guidelines propose beta-blockers (BBs) as first-line medication. Peptic Ulcer disease (PUD) is the most common and serious gastrointestinal disorder on clinical practice. Peptic Ulcer is a sore in the lining of stomach or duodenum or anywhere in the gut. If Peptic Ulcers are found in the stomach, they are called gastric ulcers. If they are found in the duodenum, they are called duodenal ulcers. The symptoms related with PUD are dyspepsia, burning pain in the gut, heartburns, vomiting after or before meal, constipation, not feeling of well. The drugs like antacids, h2 receptor antagonist and proton pump inhibitors are used for PUD all around world widely .the use of medicinal plants becoming more popular due to the adverse effects of such allopathic drugs .now a day's world population evolution towards herbal remedies for complete healing of such tragic ailments. Many herbs are used for their anti-ulcerogenic, anti-secretory & gastro-protective property. The ideal aims of treatment of Peptic Ulcer disease should be to relieve pain, heal the ulcers and delay ulcer recurrence. In this review attempts have been made to know about some common medicinal plants which are being used in Ayurveda or modern science for the treatment or prevention of Peptic Ulcer and also some natural and easy ways in which available herbs can be used in treatment of ulcers.

Medicinal plants have a vital part in the health of both humans and animals. Siegesbeckia orientalis L. commonly known as St. Paul's Wort is a natural herb cultivated annually. It is a member of the Asteraceae family, which has been used for centuries to treat a variety of diseases. It can be found in Africa and Asia, as well as tropical, subtropical and temperate zones. Leprosy, syphilis, sores and gangrenous ulcers are all treated with it topically. This herb has a variety of biologically active and beneficial phytoconstituent elements that are thought to be accountable for the plant's health promoting properties. Sesquiterpene lactone, orientin, and diterpenes are bioactive chemical substances discovered in the aerial portions of S. orientalis. The presence of 3, 7-dimethyl quercetin in the whole plant has been documented. Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antimalarial, antirheumatic, antihypertensive, anti-snake venom, immunosuppressive and antiproliferative properties have been observed. The whole plant has traditionally been used as a hypoglycemic agent. Phytochemical studies of the leaves of Siegesbeckia orientalisL revealed the presence of Siegesbeckia orientalis L. The present review highlights the medicinal uses, chemical constituents and pharmacological studies carried out with this plant.

... In the general population, the lifetime prevalence of Peptic Ulcer disease is estimated to be approximately 51%, with an annual incidence of 1%-3%. Epidemiological Studies have revealed a sharp decrease in the disease's incidence, rates of hospitalisation, and mortality over the last 20-30 years, the prevalence and incidence of Peptic Ulcer Disease are now likely to be lower than these estimates worldwide, particularly in high-Income countries [24] . ...

... Plants can synthesize a wide variety of organic chemicals, with secondary metabolites including polyphenols, volatile compounds, and alkaloids being crucial for their adaptability and defense mechanisms (Güven et al., 2024;Celik et al., 2024;Bayrak et al., 2023). Siegesbeckia is acknowledged for its variety of bioactive substances that exhibit health-promoting qualities, including phenolics (flavonoids), carotenoids, capsaicinoids, fatty acids, vitamin C, and vitamin E. There is an increasing emphasis on investigating the functions and applications of many physiological bioactive chemicals, particularly kirenol, recognized as one of the most important bioactive ingredients (Ren et al., 2020;Sukanya et al., 2022). Plants possess antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral capabilities owing to the bioactive compounds they contain. ...

... FMMO has been shown to treat stomach ulcers, reduce gastric acid output, and protect the gastrointestinal mucosa. Empirical investigations show that FMMO, which stands for fecal microbiota transplantation, can also lower the number of duodenal ulcers(Ng et al., 2022). In addition, a study carried out byHaak et al. (2017) demonstrated that extracts produced from Maerua oblongifolia A. Rich could lower blood glucose levels in people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. ...
