The article is devoted to the problem of finite‐time and fixed‐time observation of linear multiple input multiple output control systems. The proposed dynamic observers do not require system transformation to a canonical form and guarantee convergence of the observation error to zero in a finite or in a fixed time. It is shown that the observers are robust (in input‐to‐state sense) against input disturbances and measurement noises. The results are supported with simulation examples.
... From this geometric perspective we recover the well-known notion of homogeneity of vector field and maps (see also [20]). Consider the system map Σ associated to the pair pF pt, x, dq, Hpt, x, dqq " ∆ pApxq, Cpxqq, and a GGT of the form Ψ p pt, zq " ∆ pe pa t t, diag i te ppa x i´a t q ux, d, diag i te pa y i uyq, where a xi ă 0 and a yj , a t P R. The map Φ p pxq " ∆ diag i te´p a x i ux is known as one-parameter group of standard (linear) dilations on R n ( [27]). On account of the geometric interpretation given above Ψ p is a GS of Σptq " 0 if (and only if) the vector field A, resp. the mapping C, is homogeneous with weights p´a x1 ,¨¨¨,´a xn q and degree g t , resp. ...

... The present paper addresses the problem of homogeneity based finite-time observer design for linear descriptor systems. The finite-time stability analysis is based on the Implicit Lyapunov Function (ILF) method (for example, [16]). One of the advantages of the proposed observer is parameters tuning based on Linear Matrix Equations and Inequalities (LMEIs). ...

... Homogeneity is a kind of symmetry property, which is widely used for stability and robustness analysis, nonasymptotic control and observer design, etc (see, e.g., [20]). In [21] the homogeneity property is extended for the class of descriptor systems. ...

... In particular, sliding mode control-based observers have been widely used to stabilize the system to estimate states. Some of the most crucial properties include insensitivity to matched perturbations [22], achieving finite-time convergence [23] in the presence of unknown external disturbances [24], and robustness against certain classes of unmatched uncertainties [25]. However, its main disadvantage is the chattering [12], and it usually uses the form of a Luenberger observer. ...

... Let us give stability definitions for the system (1). Definition 1 [17], [18] The system (1) is said to be • globally Lyapunov stable if for any ε > 0 there exists δ (ε) > 0 such that ∥x 0 ∥ < δ , then ∥Φ x 0 (t)∥ < ε for all t ≥ 0; • globally asymptotically stable if it is Lyapunov stable and lim t→+∞ Φ x 0 (t) = 0; • globally finite-time stable if it is globally asymptotically stable and any solution Φ x 0 (t) reaches the equilibrium point at some finite time moment, i.e. ...

... The noise ratio is improved: because the common mode feedback can stabilize the common mode voltage, reduce the degree of noise and the mixing of the useful signal, and make the system signalnoise ratio significantly improved [10]. Higher signal-to-noise ratio means clearer, accurate data transmission or signal detection capabilities. ...

... However, their approach leads to a specific selection of the observer's nonlinearities gains, and thus allowing for a small parameters range in the design procedure. The work 8 is also based on homogeneity theory to design a finite-time nonlinear observer for MIMO linear systems subject to perturbations and noise measurements. This observer is designed in the original plant's coordinates, avoiding the transformation of the plant to a canonical form. ...

... Since the human body can be regarded as a very valuable conductor, the exchange capacity of the heart can be quickly transferred to the surface of the human body. Therefore, by attaching electrodes to the surface of the body, the capacitance during the heartbeat can 5 Journal of Nanomaterials be separated, and the heartbeat can completely collect electrical signals to obtain the corresponding electrocardiogram [30]. ...
