The ecotourism evaluation is the second step in design ecotourism destinations and ecotourism routes, and the evaluation of ecotourism destinations and ecotourism routes is to determine that ecotourism has the basic conditions of being friendly to the environment, so evaluation is also indispensable. This chapter uses survey and evaluation examples, and uses ecotourism evaluation methods and monitoring items to let readers understand the advanced skills of ecotourism evaluation. In the Chaps. 2 and 3, when investigating and evaluating ecotourism, you need to learn many evaluation techniques. In terms of improving the quality of ecotourism surveys and assessments, it is necessary to increase the letter and effectiveness of biometrics.

The ecotourism survey is the first step in planning ecotourism destinations and ecotourism routes, and the evaluation of ecotourism destinations and ecotourism routes is to determine that ecotourism has the basic conditions of being friendly to the environment, so both survey and evaluation are indispensable in this chapter and Chap. 3. This chapter uses survey examples and uses ecotourism environment survey connotation, evaluation methods, and monitoring items to let readers understand the basic skills of ecotourism survey. In this chapter, we openly define the ecotourism site and ecotourism route; an ecotourism site is an area where ecotourism occurs, with the planning, setting, and design of tourist attractions, including biophysical, social, and management attributes. When investigating and evaluating ecotourism, you need to learn many evaluation techniques in Chap. 3. In terms of improving the quality of ecotourism surveys and assessments, it is necessary to increase the letter and effectiveness of biometrics.

Professional Education and Interpretation

Ecotourism requires professional education and explanations to gain a deeper understanding of the essence of education in ecotourism destinations. Ecoeducation and commentary are the cornerstones of nurturing econarrators, providing appropriate ecoeducation, natural experience services for different tourists’ attributes, and needs. The tour guides and tour leaders in ecotourism have the experience of leading a tour group, but when they arrive at ecotourism destinations, they still need econarrators to explain the local ecological knowledge, so that tourists participating in ecotourism can absorb the ecotourism knowledge, affection, and skills. Given the importance of professional education and explanation, this chapter uses the basic theory of professional talents and the development process of educational research to explain that in addition to the theoretical framework of applied information processing, the overall “environmental-oriented educational landscape” must also be considered. Recreational teaching resources, providing perfect environmental education, and training locations, plans, strategies, and principles, must be heavily considered to cultivate excellent interpreters.

Ecotourism Attractions

In ecotourism, we learned in Chaps. 7 and 8, that ecotourists are the mainstay of tourism. This chapter discusses ecotourism attractions as the object of tourism. Tourist attractions are a very important part of tourism resources and mainly provide a feast for tourists to experience in depth. Through the sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell in the personal senses of the ecotourism destination when traveling, you can feel the pleasant feeling brought by the attractions. Among them, the proportion of tourist scenery in vision is as high as 80%. Therefore, this chapter abandons the names of traditional scenic spots, scenic spots, scenic resources, or tourist resources and defines the visual landscape of ecotourism destinations as “attractions.” Its content does not simply focus on tourist spots but covers tourist routes and tourist areas and the structure of the travel network. This chapter mainly constructs tourist attractions based on “The Image of the City” and “Landscape Ecology” theories. Through the planning and design of the attractions, supplemented by tour guides and explanations, visitors can deeply appreciate the composition of the environmental elements in the attractions.

This chapter teaches the philosophical foundation, management structure, system feedback, and plan feedback methods of ecotourism planning and management. Based on the theory of ecotourism, the natural system and social system mentioned by Fennell and Dowling (Ecotourism policy and planning, 2003) are used as the basis for discussion. With the public sector in ecotourism governance and the private sector in the perspective of ecotourism management, ecotourism is planned introduction. In the system feedback, it is applied to manpower, programs, and training plans to strengthen the system feedback framework of ecotourism, including: proposing environmental certification, travel safety, and special marketing of tourist destinations. Finally, this chapter puts forward the concept of plan feedback, builds a new model of overall ecotourism planning, and management through ecotourism rating assessment and satisfaction survey.

This chapter discusses the possibilities of the future ecology of the earth with the future of ecotourism. We introduce the follow-up prospects of ecotourism, including the development of various ecotourism research themes, based on the trends of scientific research, government assistance, and private promotion. For the vision of future life, the ending of the book uses fairy tales predicted by the planet to show the long dangerous and distant traits of travel in the Appendix I Asteroid. In the face of the unknown future of the earth, we need to use a “warm heart and calm brain” to make value judgments and take care of the earth's environment with actions.

Tourism Economy and Community Development

In this chapter, we openly discuss the benefits ecotourism and propose that ecotourism revenue is an opportunity for local development, not all of ecotourism. Because ecotourism is not a tangible product, it belongs to a project portfolio of natural resources, and social services, and is affected by economics, politics, culture, and society. Therefore, to develop the ecotourism industry, one must understand the limitations of ecotourism, the incentives for economic and community development, and the economic and social costs. Through the discussion of the product life cycle in ecotourism, this chapter illustrates the feasibility of promoting ecotourism and sustainable development of the community through leadership, service, and community participation.

We promote follow-up ecotourism planning projects through ecological surveys, and after detailed investigations, we formulate plans, plans, or strategies for environmentally friendly behaviors. This chapter discusses the planning, and design concepts of ecotourism destinations. These concepts are different from the traditional leisure facility planning concepts but are discussed based on environmental sustainability and the special needs of users. This chapter mainly discusses the relationship between facilities, the environment, and users. The purpose of planning and design requires an integrated process to provide good recreational quality in ecotourism destinations. The content of the course borrows the descriptions of “hard-path or rigid ecotourists” and “soft-path or flexible ecotourists” to explore the differences in demand between different ecotourists, and to explain the “Limit of Acceptable Change” (LAC) and the “Recreation Opportunity Spectrum” (ROS). In the introduction of ecotourism activities, the specific evaluation, planning, and design principles. The LAC is formulated by the government with clear regulations and system guidelines, which stipulate the maximum extent to which the ecotourism site can be changed due to the franchise. The ROS is bounded by the natural conditions of ecotourism destinations. With the difference in recreation opportunities, different choices are provided so that travel enthusiasts of different natures can decide to use the zoning. As ecotourism destinations are currently under pressure from different land developments, the protection of tourist destinations has become an urgent task. In particular, ecologically sensitive areas, ecological hotspots, or important habitats for wild animals should be given priority to be designated as protected areas as the core area for the conservation of species. This chapter provides readers with guidelines for delineating ecological reserves and applies the principle of carrying capacity, an in-depth discussion of planning professional guidelines and, design strategies.

The application of assisted ecotourism planning is an emerging technology. In the ecotourism planning stage, through larger environmental and ecological resources, we can assist ecotourism planners to understand and discuss the characteristics and distribution patterns of bio-distribution in ecotourism destinations and landscape distribution models as ecotourism destinations. Refer to the simulation of environmental development, and after the establishment of ecotourism sites, the use of geographic information systems is beneficial to analyze the status of environmental changes and land use. In addition, if we focus on the design of ecotourism destinations, the application of assisted ecotourism planning can also use road network analysis software to assist ecotourism route planning to reduce time and energy losses on the route.

In recent years, due to the oversaturation of the population, the development behavior caused by the needs of the people’s livelihood has led to the excessive use of resources and at the same time caused a large number of destruction of biological habitats, and the number and type of living beings have declined sharply. Therefore, how to carry out environmental conservation, species restoration, and habitat restoration has become an important issue for the current government to promote conservation strategies. This chapter uses the philosophy of the East and the West to explain that the East maintains the ecological resources with the spirit of benevolence, “things and me are endless;” while the West is based on religious doctrines and hopes that human beings will cherish the idea that God has given resources for conservation. Establish a conservation framework based on natural resource management. This chapter takes the case of domestic ecotourism destination Restoration as an example to discuss the conservation of ecotourism destinations. First, the theoretical basis of natural resource management is analyzed, and species conservation is one of the evaluation criteria. The process of analyzing the minimum survivable population and ethnic survivability in species conservation is explained. In addition, through the debate on the concepts of landscape ecology and island biogeography, the concept of “several small patches vs. large patches” is discussed (Fahrig in Global Ecol Biogeogr 29:615–628, 2020; Järvinen in Oikos 301–307, 1982; McNeill and Fairweather in J Biogeogr 20:429–440, 1993). Do you need to protect large undeveloped patchiness? Or are there several small- and medium-sized pitchinesses reserved in an area? And connect small pitchinesses to form a “stepping stones” system, as a temporary habitat (i.e., stopover) during species migration, forming a relatively stable ecosystem. This chapter uses the basic concepts of conservation and restoration to allow readers to understand the differences in the characteristics of humanities and natural landscapes in planning and incorporates the concept of ecological assessment to become the basis for the overall examination of environmental planning and restoration in ecology.
