A reduction in rice quality may result from pest infestations in storage facilities. In addition to being a major pest of rice, the rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae L.) is a problem in warehouses. Attacks by rice weevils may result in lower-quality rice. Using white pepper powder as a pesticide is one way to solve this issue. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how white pepper powder, a botanical pesticide, affects rice weevil pest mortality, as well as the optimal dosage and mode of administration. In this study, there were six treatments and four replications in a single factor totally randomized design. The rate at which rice weevil bugs died and the percentage of rice weight loss were the study's parameters. The results showed that the death of rice weevil pests was influenced using white pepper powder. The highest mortality rate was L5 at 52.5%, which is the best dose.

The Effect of Leaf-Eating Pest Infestation on Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) Cultivation Treated with Papaya Leaf Extract

Pakchoi (Brassica rapa L.) has experienced a decline in productivity due to plant pests. The objective of this research was to determine the effect of papaya leaf extract and the optimal concentration that can control pest infestation. This study utilized a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 4 treatments with 5 replications, with the tested concentrations being: P0 = control, P1 = 200 ml L-1, P2 = 400 ml L-1, P3 = 600 ml L-1. The research results indicated that papaya leaf extract significantly influenced pest attacks, with the best concentration being 600 ml L-1, resulting in a pest attack intensity of 18.75%.

Beberapa permasalahan terjadi di Desa Bentok Darat salah satunya penurunan produksi padi akibat serangan gejala nekrosis dan lesi pada daun dan juga malai yang mengalami patah leher diduga mengalami penyakit blas yang disebabkan oleh jamur Pyricularia dengan ditemukannya miselia putih pada benih padi. Pada wawancara dengan ketua kelompok tani permasalahan ini ditenggarai iklim desa yang terus-terusan diguyur hujan berturut-turut setelah mengalami kemarau yang panjang. Karena itulah perlu dilakukan penyuluhan tentang pengenalan penyakit penting pada padi dan teknik pengendaliannya dengan menerapkan prinsip pengelolaan penyakit terpadu atau mengutamakan keseimbangan ekosistem dalam mengendalikan pertumbuhan dan penyebaran patogen. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan kepada masyarakat petani Desa Bentok Darat dalam mencegah masalah penyakit pada padi dan cara pengelolaan lingkungan yang baik serta pengendalian terpadu. Metode kegiatan meliputi pengisian kuisioner, pembukaan, ceramah, diskusi dan pengisian kuisioner yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui manfaat kegiatan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman tentang penyakit padi dan cara pengendaliannya. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat oleh Jurusan Agroekoteknologi kepada mitra Kelompok Tani Desa Bentok Darat, Kecamatan Bati-bati, Kabupaten Tanah Laut menghasilkan peningkatan pemahaman warga tani Desa Bentok darat mengenai jenis-jenis penyakit penting pada padi dan agen patogen penyebabnya sebesar 85,71%. Kegiatan ini berperan sekali dalam meningkatkan pemahaman petani di Desa Bentok Darat mengenai informasi cara pengendalian penyakit di padi dengan nilai pengetahuan warga desa meningkat sebesar 100% tentang cara lain atau teknis pengendaliannya menggunakan POC plus, pestisida nabati dan agensia hayati. Seratus persen responden menjawab kegiatan ini menimbulkan rasa senang karena memperoleh manfaat dalam peningkatan informasi dan pengetahuan dalam mengetahui jenis penyakit padi dan cara pengendaliannya. Community Service: Introduction to Rice Plant Diseases and Their Control Techniques in Bentok Darat Village, Bati-bati, South Kalimantan One of the problems that occurred in Bentok Darat Village was a decrease in rice production due to attacks of symptoms of necrosis and lesions on leaves and panicles with broken necks suspected of being affected by blast disease caused by Pyricularia fungus with white mycelia found in rice seeds. In an interview with the head of the farmer group, it is suspected that the climate in the village continues to rain after experiencing a long dry season. Therefore it is necessary to carry out counseling about the introduction of important diseases in rice plants and their control techniques by applying the principles of integrated disease control or prioritizing ecosystem balance in controlling the growth and spread of pathogens. This activity aims to provide insight to the farming community of Bentok Darat Village in preventing rice disease problems as well as good environmental management and integrated control. Activity methods include filling out questionnaires, opening, lectures, discussions and filling out questionnaires which aim to find out the benefits of activities in increasing understanding of rice diseases and how to deal with them Community service activities by the Department of Agroecotechnology for Farmer Group partners in Bentok Darat Village, Bati-bati District, Tanah Laut Regency resulted in an increase in information and knowledge of the farmers in Bentok Darat Village regarding important types of diseases in rice and their causative pathogens by 85.71%. This activity played a major role in increasing the knowledge of farmers in Bentok Darat Village regarding the information on how to control diseases in rice with the value of the villagers' knowledge rising by 100% about other methods or control techniques using POC plus, vegetable pesticides, and biological agents. One hundred percent of respondents answered that this activity caused a sense of pleasure because it benefited from increasing information and knowledge about the types of rice diseases and how to control them

Penyusunan kalender tanam dan Pengelolaan Hama Terpadu pada budidaya tanaman pakcoy perlu dikelola dengan baik sehingga produk pakcoy di pasaran tidak melimpah. Kalau produksi pakcoy melimpah maka harga akan turun dan petani akan mengalami kerugian karena produk pertanian tidak tahan lama dan mudah busuk. Hal tersebut dapat disebabkan karena perencanaan waktu tanam, luas tanam dan periode tanam yang kurang tepat. Pengendalian Hama Terpadu (PHT) adalah suatu konsepsi atau cara berpikir mengenai pengendalian Organisme Pengganggu Tumbuhan (OPT) dengan pendekatan ekologi yang bersifat multidisiplin untuk mengelola populasi hama dan penyakit dengan memanfaatkan beragam taktik pengendalian yang kompatibel dalam suatu kesatuan koordinasi pengelolaan. PHT merupakan suatu sistem pengendalian yang menggunakan pendekatan ekologi, maka pemahaman tentang biologi dan ekologi hama dan penyakit menjadi sangat penting. Solusi dari permasalah mitra tersebut adalah 1) Penyusunan kalender tanam dengan cara memberikan pengetahuan dan teknologi pembuatan kalender tanam pakcoy; 2) Memberikan pengetahuan tentang Pengendalian Hama Terpadu melalui budidaya tanaman sehat, pemanfaatan musuh alami, pengamatan rutin dan pemantauan serta petani sebagai ahli PHT. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah agar peserta mendapatkan pengetahuan dan mampu menyusun kalender tanam sayuran; paham dan menerapkan Pengendalian Hama Terpadu. Simpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah terjadinya peningkatan pengetahuan tentang kalender tanam sayuran dan Pengendalian Hama Terpadu.pada tanaman pakcoy. Peserta secara berkelompok sudah mampu menyusun kalender tanam sayuran dan sudah memahami Pengendalihan Hama Terpadu pada budidaya tanaman pakcoy.

Anthracnose is a disease that attacks and is very feared in chili cultivation. The low production and productivity of chili plants is caused by this disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness and concentration of noni leaf pesticides on the control of anthracnose. This research was arranged using a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor, namely the treatment of giving concentrations of vegetable pesticides and noni. The treatment consisted of 6 levels of treatment, namely DM0 = Control (0 ml Noni leaf extract solution), DM1 = Noni leaf extract solution 5 g/100 ml water, DM2 = Noni leaf extract solution 10 g/100 ml water, DM3 = Leaf extract solution noni 15 g/100 ml water, DM4 = Noni leaf extract solution 20 g/100 ml water, FS = synthetic fungicide as positive control. The experiment was carried out 4 times, so that 24 experimental units were obtained. The results showed that noni leaf pesticides were effective in controlling anthracnose in cayenne pepper plants with an effective concentration found in DM4 treatment with 20 g/100 ml of water extract solution of noni leaf.


Responses of Plant Growth and Lettuce Yields to the Application of Oyster Mushroom Baglog Waste Compost

Seeing the potential and efficacy of lettuce causes the demand for lettuce to increase. Lettuce cultivation using planting media that can be utilized is oyster mushroom baglog waste. This study aims to determine the effect of applying oyster mushroom baglog waste compost on the growth and yield of lettuce plants, to determine the best dose of oyster mushroom baglog waste compost on the growth and yield of lettuce plants. The design used was a 1-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely A0 (control), A1 (400 g), A2 (500 g) and A3 (600 g). With 5 repetitions, there are 20 experimental units. Parameters observed in this study were plant height, number of leaves, leaf width and fresh weight of lettuce. The results showed that the application of oyster mushroom baglog waste compost had an effect on the growth and yield of lettuce. The best dose treatment for the growth and yield of lettuce is A3.

Edamame, as an essential food ingredient, has the potential to be developed with a high level of market demand every year. The ability of edamame cultivated on all types of soil has the opportunity to be introduced to the residents of Cempaka Village, Banjarbaru. The introduction of integrated pest control-based cultivation and land management using compost media from agricultural waste by considering environmental sustainability needs to be conveyed and later applied to build environmentally friendly sustainable agrarian concepts. The purpose of this Community Service Activity is to educate and train the skills of the people of Cempaka Village, Banjarbaru City, regarding organic edamame cultivation to improve the quality of edamame cultivation and production sustainably. The method used in this activity is a classical approach in the form of lectures and distributing knowledge questionnaires before and after the extension material. The results of the pre-activity questionnaire showed that 65% of participants only knew about edamame, compost, and organic fertilizers but not about integrated pest control techniques. After the activity, participants' knowledge increased by approximately 100%, hoping that the Cempaka Village community could apply it in the field.

Tujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat adalah untuk mengenalkan dan meningkatkan pengetahuan serta keterampilan masyarakat khususnya di Desa Liang Anggang Kecamatan Bati-Bati mengenai intensifikasi pekarangan guna memenuhi kebutuhan gizi pada masa pandemic Covid-19. Metode yang dilakukan berupa penyuluhan atau ceramah kepada masyarakat desa Liang Anggang. Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan pekarangan dalam pemenuhan gizi keluarga semakin bertambah. Pemanfaatan pekarangan perlu ditata dengan mengedepankan keberagaman spesies untuk kebutuhan dapur, sehingga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan gizi dan memperbaiki gizi keluarga di masa pandemi covid 19.


Variation of the Amount of Seeds per Planting Hole to the Response of Lettuce Plant with DFT Hydroponic System

Lettuce is a vegetable plant whose needs always increase every year according to population growth. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to increase the production of lettuce by increasing the number of seeds per planting hole using the DFT hydroponic system. This study aims to determine the effect of the number of seeds per planting hole on the growth and yield of lettuce plants and to determine the number of seeds per planting hole that produces the highest growth and yield of lettuce plants. Implementation This research was conducted from August to September 2021. Located in the Community Food Barn, the Department of Food Security and Fisheries, Banjar Regency. The method used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with treatment S1 (control), S2 (2 seeds per planting hole), S3 (3 seeds per planting hole), and S4 (4 seeds per planting hole). The treatment was repeated 4 times to get 16 experimental unit Based on the results of the research, it can be seen that the number of seeds per planting hole has an effect on the growth and yield of lettuce. The best treatment was found in S4 which had the highest value at an average plant height of 36.25 cm, an increase in plant height at 28 DAP of 11.61 cm, an average number of leaves of 22.06 strands, and an average yield harvest of 153.75 grams. DFT hydroponic cultivation of lettuce resulted in optimal production of 4 seeds per planting hole. Useful research for the efficiency of lettuce production using hydroponics. In addition to production efficiency, it is necessary to consider plant competition to utilize existing resources for optimal growth
