The project work delves into the investigation of composite reinforced concrete (RC) beams, utilizing standardized ISMB 150mm and a concrete grade of M25. An essential aspect entails exploring the influence of mineral admixtures on the concrete mixture while keeping the M25 grade consistent. The empirical phase involves experiments on both I-section beams and conventional RC beams, with a focus on flexural and compressive strength characteristics. This investigation encompasses the addition of mineral admixtures such as fly ash and GGBS. Furthermore, the project work includes conducting parallel assessments on conventional reinforced beams incorporating mineral admixtures like GGBS and fly ash for a holistic analysis. In the analytical phase, finite element modelling facilitated by ETABS software is utilized to simulate and predict the structural behavior of both composite and RC beams. To validate the deflection values from the calculated values of failure loads with ETABS modelling Moreover, this project uses empirical formulae from ACI 318-19 (the American Concrete Institute code book) to establish the relationship between flexural and compressive strength. This aspect enriches the project work by providing a theoretical framework for interpreting experimental findings.
