... Public interest litigation in the United States and in India have been compared as to standing to sue, non-adversarial litigation, and the relationship ofrights and remedies (Cunningham, 1987). Alternative approaches to remedying past discrimination on the basis of race and caste in India, South Africa and the United States have been explored (Cunningham, 1997).
