Achievement is one of the most important dimension in children mid and final growth. Especially living in this challenging world, achievement is one of the factors supporting someone’s success. There are many complex ting discussed in the child’s development regarding to the motivation to achieve at school. It is affected by the child himself, school, and the family where the child belongs. One of the examples of family role in deciding whether or not a child will be successful later can be seen from the parenting style produced by the child’s parents. There are many kinds of parenting styles, one of them is permissive-indulgent parenting in which a child as an object will be given much freedom to choose and determine what she or he want to do though it is still limited by a little number of control provided by the parents. Achieving motivation is defined as a motivation to do better than what other people do, which can be seen from many things started from the desire to do the school task earlier than the other since it is regarded as challenge. This correlation study aims at finding out the relationship between parenting style produced by parents in this case is the permissive indulgent parenting style toward the achieving motivation on the child. The population of this study is the children aged 10-12 of Mujahidin elementary school 1 Surabaya consisting of 88 students. The instruments used is the scale data of permissive indulgent parenting style figuring at 30 items. The data analysis is by taking the correlation product moment from Karl person. The result gotten from this study shows that there is a positive correlation in this case significant between the permissive-indulgent parenting style toward the child’s achieving motivation (by r = 0.483, p= 0,000). It means that the permissive-indulgent parenting style gives significant contribution to the child’s achieving motivation figuring about 23,3 % and 76,7 % is caused by other factors related to achieving motivation.
