The present study analyzed the production on metabolic syndrome and sleep disorders in Brazil in the indexed scientific literature. Keywords such as “ Metabolic Syndrome”, “Cardiometabolic Risk Factors”, and “Sleep Wake Disorders” were used to find relevant research papers in PubMed and LILACS - VHL. Additionally, a table was built with the synthesis of the publications recovered in the two databases to characterize the publications found and an analysis of textual bodies and similarity was carried out, in order to better understand the connections between the terms that emerged from the analyzed abstracts. This short review evidenced that the theme related to metabolic syndrome and sleep disorders in Brazil, based on the search strategies carried out, showed little literature, as well as indicating a high relationship perceived by the mathematical model of co-occurrences between the term “sleep” with “OSA”, “risk factor” and “metabolic syndrome”.

Objective: Our intention was to analyze production on the anti-vaccine movement and its implications for vaccination of the Brazilian population in the indexed scientific literature. Methods: We used the systematic scoping review to search the following databases: PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Burry, Lilacs/BVS and Scielo.JBI and PRISMA-SCR international protocols were adopted for the search and screening of scope-related articles. The guiding question was built through the acronym PCC (population, concept and context). The information was extracted, categorized regarding the relationship with the theme of the anti -vaccine movement and the implications for vaccination coverage of the Brazilian and/or general population.
... Concerning the limits of the method, it is important to understand that the Alceste software considers the corpus studied as a set of words, without taking into account the syntax of the sentences and the organization of the text, so there is no understanding of the text as such by the software (Lebart & Salem, 1994). Thus, this method cannot deliver any "intrinsic truth" regarding the corpus, as the analyst is responsible for studying the results and for interpreting them (Delavigne, 2004). ...

The way the social protection system in France is organized frequently leads to coordination difficulties between the social and healthcare sectors. A health and social program has been implemented in a French medical-psychological center to optimize the coherence of the pathway for people living with schizophrenia. This study evaluated the way users and professionals perceive this program so as to assess the relevance of double case management. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with users (N = 21) and professionals (N = 11) of this program and then analyzed with Alceste software. The results highlight the overall satisfaction of the participants with the program, and the double case management was shown to be beneficial in supporting people living with schizophrenia in their life project. These results indicate that this program enabled the emergence of a collective empowerment, which could assist with the recovery process of schizophrenia.
... In the second stage, the data collected were examined by lexicometric analysis. As Lebart and Salem (1994) write, lexicometry aims to identify the degree of similarity between text segments according to the vocabulary and frequency of forms (i.e., words) used: "What are the forms that characterize each text, by their presence or absence?" (p. 135). ...

In a context of re-greening of urban spaces, it is crucial to examine the impact of green spaces on the population. In this qualitative study carried out in France (Nantes), 28 people with a plot in an allotment garden were questioned through semi-directive interviews about the psychosocial impact of this type of space. Using thematic and lexicometric analyses, the different psychosocial benefits of these spaces are highlighted and put into perspective with the conflicts occurring there. The content analysis foregrounded the benefits of allotment garden regarding psychological well-being, (notably through the feeling of flow), physical health, self-development and social bonding. Nevertheless, these benefits are balanced by the different conflicts reported by the participants. By showing that positive and negative social aspects are significantly associated in the participants' discourse, the lexicometric analysis strengthened the idea that these elements must be considered jointly to better describe the reality of allotment gardens.

In this chapter we explore what a “crisis” event (here the first lockdown related to Covid-19 in France) means in terms of (i) the balance of power among actors expressing themselves in the daily press and of (ii) the main messages that the more prominent of these actors disseminate. In order to analyze changes in press discourse on city cycling in France, we examine a corpus that spans the period from September 2019 to September 2020, i.e., six months before the first lockdown (March 17, 2020) and five months after the end of the month-long lockdown (May 11, 2020). The discourse analysis has been conducted on 578 press articles from five regional newspapers (Rennes, Montpellier, Besançon, Paris, and Lyon) and one national press title ( Libération ). This entire corpus was analyzed using textometry, a computer-assisted method for analyzing quantitative textual data. This enables us to identify a discursive change. Two elements characterize that change: (i) the balance between actors who “talk” or who “are talked about” in the articles shifts gradually. During this period, cycling organizations appear to be the actors whose position is strengthened in the media discourse; (ii) these actors are strengthened in their traditional mission of lobbying for cycling, but with a focus on new issues (e.g., wearing a face-covering or not for cyclists, calling for the reopening of green public spaces to allow the transit of bicycles, etc.). The first Covid-19 wave appears to have been the accelerator of a wider process that has led cycling organizations to professionalize since the 2000s, to move away from ecologist, anarchist, and anticapitalist discourses and to promote instead the idea of everyday cycling as a tool for improving public health. The Covid-19 crisis has further established cycling organizations as reference actors for bicycle mobility in French cities.

The incidence of type 1 diabetes (T1D) has increased by about 3% per year over the last two decades. Continuous Insulin Subcutaneous Therapy (CSII) is widely used in the pediatric population with diabetes; however, it requires more preparation by the treating team and a careful selection of its potential users. Prescriptive provisions vary from region to region, and the perspective of health workers in this regard remains an unexplored area. The aim of this research project is to explore the representations of a group of diabetologists and psychologists working in pediatric diabetology throughout the country, regarding their roles, functions, and activities as part of a multidisciplinary team; it also aims to investigate their views on the potential benefits of CSII and the types of individuals who apply for the use of this technology. A socio-anagraphic data sheet was administered, and two homogeneous focus groups were conducted, one for each profession, which were then audio recorded. The transcripts produced were analyzed using the Emotional Text Mining (ETM) methodology. Each of the two corpora generated three clusters and two factors. For diabetologists, a focus on patient care emerged at different levels, involving collaboration with other health professionals and engagement with the community, often incorporating technology in medical interventions. Similarly, psychologists’ representations highlighted interdisciplinary networking with a stronger emphasis on the psychological processes involved in managing the disease, from acceptance to the elaboration and integration of diabetes into the family narrative. Understanding the representations of health professionals working in pediatric diabetes with new technologies can contribute to the consolidation of a network of professionals through targeted work on possible critical issues that may arise.

Letters to the editor are argued to be a staple of the public sphere and, by providing regular citizens with a platform to voice their concerns to a large audience, a central democratic function of a liberal press. However, the actual weight given by the press to citizens’ deliberation on issues and the contribution of these letters in terms of content is still little researched, and historical and comparative studies are largely absent. In this article we offer a case study of letters on the immigration issue in six Scandinavian newspapers (N = 1065). Charting their volume and content using content analysis and comparing them to the more elite-dominated columns and regular news items (N = 3264), we identify major historical and national variations in the salience of the issue and the weight given the vox populi in the press. Constructing a discursive space of immigration letters using multiple correspondence analysis and subsequent clustering into seven categories of letters, we identify a historical movement towards more problematizing and cultural discourse, strongest in the Danish newspapers. We also identify Sweden as a particularly interesting case, with fewer letters and less difference between letters and other newspaper content, for which we suggest some hypotheses.

A generalized form of the cross‐validation criterion is applied to the choice and assessment of prediction using the data‐analytic concept of a prescription. The examples used to illustrate the application are drawn from the problem areas of univariate estimation, linear regression and analysis of variance.

This paper deals in a first part with the description of large sparse matrices through correspondence analysis. Whereas the usual algorithms may destroy the sparseness and require in-core diagonalization, the procedure presented here works only on a reduced coding of the basic array (put on an external file). The second part is devoted to the processing of textual data which leads frequently to such sparse arrays.
