Abstract: Higher education institutions rely on PeopleSoft as a critical enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to manage student
records, financial aid, human resources, and other administrative functions. However, excessive customizations have led to increased
complexity, higher maintenance costs, and hindered upgrades, ultimately affecting student outcomes. This paper explores how migrating
PeopleSoft to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) enables universities to streamline operations by reducing unnecessary customizations.
By leveraging OCI’s advanced automation, scalability, and security, institutions can adopt a clean configuration approach that enhances
system reliability, improves service delivery, and supports data - driven decision - making to drive better student experiences.

1. Introduction
PeopleSoft has been a foundational ERP system for
universities, providing essential academic and
administrative functionalities. Over the years, institutions
have extensively customized PeopleSoft to align with unique
business processes [1]. However, these customizations have
increased system maintenance complexity, constrained
scalability, and delayed the adoption of new features that
could improve student services. Cloud migration presents an
opportunity to simplify and modernize PeopleSoft
deployments, allowing institutions to eliminate redundant
customizations while leveraging standard functionalities to
enhance efficiency and student outcomes [2].
2. Challenges of On - Premises PeopleSoft
Customizations
2.1 Legacy Customizations and Their Impact on Student
Experience
Obsolete Customizations: Many modifications that
once addressed institutional needs are now redundant due
to advancements in delivered PeopleSoft features [3].
Upgrade Complexity: Maintaining custom workflows

Migrating PeopleSoft to OCI provides institutions with a

3.5 PeopleSoft Cloud Manager: Simplifying Cloud

PeopleSoft Cloud Manager plays a crucial role in
streamlining the transition from on - premises to OCI [19,
20]. This tool provides an intuitive interface for automating
deployment, patching, and lifecycle management. With its
easy - to - use features, universities can efficiently migrate
to their PeopleSoft environments with minimal disruption
[21]. Cloud Manager allows institutions to lift and shift
existing configurations while enabling post - migration
optimization, making cloud adoption smoother and reducing
manual administrative tasks [22]. This automation ensures
that universities can focus on enhancing student services
rather than managing IT complexities.

5. Conclusion
Migrating PeopleSoft to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure enables
higher education institutions to move away from complex,
costly, and difficult - to - maintain customizations. By
embracing standard PeopleSoft functionalities, universities
can simplify system management, reduce costs, and improve
scalability. OCI’s automation, security, and disaster recovery
capabilities ensure long - term stability, allowing institutions
to focus on student success rather than IT maintenance [23].
The transition to cloud - based PeopleSoft deployments is a
strategic step toward enhancing operational efficiency and
delivering an optimized student experience.

Cloud migration has emerged as a strategic priority for high-revenue financial services firms seeking to optimize operations, enhance scalability, and reduce costs. This review presents a comprehensive framework for cloud migration, specifically tailored to address the unique challenges and regulatory requirements of the financial sector. By integrating best practices in cloud strategy development, risk management, and performance optimization, the framework aims to facilitate a seamless transition from legacy systems to cloud environments. This explores key phases of the migration process, including assessment, strategy development, phased implementation, and ongoing optimization. Emphasis is placed on critical factors such as regulatory compliance, data security, risk mitigation, and cost management. Through an in-depth case study of a high-revenue financial institution, this review demonstrates how a well-structured cloud migration strategy can drive significant cost savings, improve operational efficiency, and enhance service delivery. The case study highlights practical challenges encountered during the migration, such as data integration and latency issues, and illustrates solutions for overcoming these barriers. Post-migration results show measurable gains in agility, scalability, and cost reduction, while maintaining stringent compliance with industry regulations. An Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is a vital component of any successful organization for managing complex business processes. In order to successfully implement ERP solutions, the management and implementers should have a broad understanding of the ERP systems architecture and the specific components which might be required for any business need. In this article, we provide a comprehensive overview of the modern ERP systems architecture and investigate their underlying conceptual and structural models. In addition, we present the most significant technologies and tools used for the modern ERP systems which are provided by leader vendors in the market. Our research work can provide an insight for ERP project managers and consultants on what type of architecture is suitable for their business needs or how the implemented ERP system components work together. Moreover, it can assist ERP software designers to find the right type of software architecture which might satisfy any customer's changeable needs.

Since cloud migration greatly affects the course of digital transformation for a company, the execution of the process should take front stage instead of the choice to do it. Notwithstanding the scalability, agility, and cost efficiency of the cloud, the migration process sometimes comes up unanticipated challenges like performance bottlenecks, security flaws, price overruns, and cultural resistance. Businesses have to approach these problems systematically and mix agility with strategic wisdom. This paper explores optimal cloud migration strategies based on real-world case studies displaying both successful and failing approaches. Starting with a comprehensive evaluation of current workloads, carefully articulated business goals, and a systematic transfer process that lowers risk, a successful migration strategy appears to be Companies have to embrace a cloud-native paradigm and optimize applications for cloud settings instead of just replacing old systems. Combining security & the compliance will guarantee data protection & the regulatory conformance. One of the most important aspects is how expenses are managed; poor control might lead to an uncontrollably rising the cloud cost. Initiatives in cost-reduction, automation & the actual time monitoring helps companies to better control expenses & hence raise performance. Empirical case studies highlight important insights from companies that have effectively managed cloud migration, therefore stressing important lessons learnt. These events emphasize the importance of proactive problem-solving, continuous improvement, and interdisciplinary cooperation. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications such as Oracle ERP and PeopleSoft play a critical role in managing and organizing vast amounts of data for businesses. As the volume of data within these applications continues to grow, organizations face challenges related to data storage, performance, and compliance with data retention policies. A robust data archival methodology is essential to address these challenges and ensure efficient and effective data management. This paper presents a comprehensive study on data archival methodology specifically tailored for Oracle ERP and PeopleSoft applications. The methodology encompasses a systematic approach to identify, categorize, and archive data based on its relevance, usage, and regulatory requirements. It focuses on achieving optimal data retention and retrieval while minimizing the impact on system performance and storage requirements. The proposed methodology covers various aspects of data archival, including data identification and classification, archival policies and rules, archival Review Article 116 strategies, and post-archival data management. Like any other PeopleSoft application, PeopleSoft Cloud Manager requires proper upkeep and maintenance. Also like any other PeopleSoft application, Oracle continues to evolve the functionality of PeopleSoft Cloud Manager, releasing new functionality, break fixes, and updates regularly. Applying these updates to the system is key to ensuring a stable and performant application. Oracle provides two different methodologies to successfully update your existing PeopleSoft Cloud Manager instance in place. First, you can apply updates to PeopleSoft Cloud Manager in a fashion much like updating your other PeopleSoft applications. This process utilizes a PUM image and Change Assistant to create a change package which you can then apply to your Cloud Manager instance. The second option available is to apply updates to your PeopleSoft Cloud Manager instance using a delivered and more automated manage updates functionality within the application.

The cost of enterprise IT is growing due to the nonlinear expansion of IT resource’s requirements. Cloud computing, a new paradigm of flexible and cost-effective computing is being explored as the possible solution to make enterprise IT sustainable. Cloud computing also offers new cutting edge cloud native-platform to develop application composed of microservices. This paper investigates the strategies and procedures for migration to the cloud computing environment. Literature has been reviewed to illustrate upon the current state of the art strategies and procedures for cloud computing migration including tools provided by cloud service providers and application vendors. The tasks of cloud migration and procedures have been grouped into five phases and five generic strategies for migration have been identified. Future research directions have also been proposed in this area. The findings will help to stimulate the research in this direction and help cloud adopting organizations to analyze various issues and options for making informed decision for the cloud migration.
