FRIEDRICH CHRISTIAN ZAUNER’S DAS ENDE DER EWIGKEIT AS A REGIONAL NOVEL

The concept of Heimatroman (regional novel) which can be translated into turkish as Memleket Romanı is one of the literary genres of Heimatliteratur (regional literature) which has come up in the 19. century. [Show full abstract] person was born and raised. Regional novel is the upper-genre of some novel types like village novel (Dorfroman), farmer novel (Bauernroman), mountain novel (Bergroman). Friedrich Christian Zauner is one of the most important authors of the contemporary Austrian literature. Most of his novels are about his fatherland. Das Ende der Ewigkeit which is the subject of this study consists of four volumes with different titles and they are published between the years 1992-1996. In the novel the historical events in Austria between the years 1900-1938 are described through a small village named Thal. People living in the rural areas and their world are transferred to the readers in detail. The aim of this study is to analyze and discuss the mentioned novel of Zauner as a regional novel.

Der Begriff ‚Familienroman' wird in den meisten literaturwissenschaftlichen Lexika als einen Romantypus bezeichnet, der stofflich im Problemkreis des bürgerlichen oder adligen Familienlebens, der Konflikte und Bedingungen des Zusammenlebens, im weiteren Sinne auch noch der Generationen und der Ehe angesiedelt ist. [Show full abstract] letzten Jahre betrachtet werden kann, ist der eher inhaltsbezogene Terminus kein in der Literaturwissenschaft allzu festgelegter Begriff und keiner klar definierbaren Systematik untergeordnet. Diese Arbeit bezweckt die Familien in dem Roman "Das Ende der Ewigkeit" von Friedrich Christian Zauner unter die Lupe zu nehmen, die Beziehungen der Familienmitglieder zu analysieren und die Struktur der Familien darzustellen. Im Lichte der Begriffserklärungen kann die Romantetralogie "Das Ende der Ewigkeit" der Gattungsbezeichnung Familienroman zugerechnet werden, denn es ist im Grunde die Geschichte einer Familie, das heißt eigentlich der Eltern, Theres und Maurits. Sie tauchen ganz am Anfang der Erzählgeschichte auf, und ihnen folgt der Leser durch die ganzen vier Bände nach. Sie bilden den roten Faden der Geschichte. Außer der Familie von Theres und Maurits ist auch die Familie von Lipp und Anna geschildert. Die Komplikationen in ihrer Ehe und in ihren Beziehungen zu ihren Kindern erfährt der Leser auch. ÖZET Aile romanı kavramı, edebiyat sözlüklerinin genelinde, merkezinde burjuva ya da soylu aile hayatını, birlikte yaşamanın şart ve çatışmalarını, geniş anlamda da kuşakları ve evliliği konu alan bir roman türü olarak adlandırılır. Aile romanı son yılların en popüler edebi türlerinden biri olarak görülmesine rağmen, bu içeriksel odaklı terim ne edebiyat biliminde sağlam bir temele oturtulmuş ne de açıkça tanımlanmış bir sistematiğe bağlanmıştır. Bu çalışma, Friedrich Christian Zauner'ın "Das Ende der Ewigkeit" adlı romanındaki aileleri mercek altına almayı, aile üyeleri arasındaki ilişkileri incelemeyi ve ailelerin yapısını betimlemeyi amaçlar. Kavram tanımları ışığında "Das Ende der Ewigkeit" aile romanı kategorisine dâhil edilebilir. Çünkü temelinde bir ebeveyn hikâyesidir, yani Theres ve Maurits'in. Romanın başında ortaya çıkıyorlar ve hikâye boyunca okur onlara eşlik etmekte. Onlar romanın en önemli boyutunu oluşturmaktadırlar. Theres ve Maurits'in ailesi dışında Lipp ve Anna'nın ailesi de tasvir edilmiştir. Evlilikte ve çocuklarıyla aralarındaki ilişkilerinde yaşadıkları anlaşmazlıklarda okura aktarılmıştır.
