Architecture for Semantic Interoperability in the E-Governance Environment
Abstract
The introduction of Semantic interoperability in the e-Governance environment is essentially a standardization process that is continuously linked to the notion of (software) architecture. Different developments on this topic are tasked with solving different problems. The present material offers a view of such an architecture, which is the basis for determining the control points for compliance with the requirements for Semantic interoperability, as well as for the development of methods and means for performing this control.
Establishing Semantic Interoperability begins with the creation of definitions of concepts, data and processes, but does not end there. Its maintenance is also not a one-time act, but a process of continuous control. For both types of activities, it is necessary to create methods and means for their implementation. The present material sheds light precisely on their creation and practical use.
The article presents a new concept of Smart Home. It is based on the approach toward the contemporary home as an environment in which people and autonomous devices coexist. The paradigm of conventional integration of systems and devices is replaced with content exchange within a semantic network environment. The control of home related devices is replaced with ad hoc communication. The Smart Home notion is presented as a part of the Internet of things space. Important common issues between development of Smart Home and Internet of Things are discussed.
