The empirical analysis is based on a combination of a cross sectional survey on the population of new technology-based firm in Sweden and a number of case studies of medium-sized firms belonging to that population. The results point to the importance of further studies on the willingness to accept growth, synchronization between professional management and technological development and the situation specificity of resource needs.
