The present study was designed to study the constraints and opinions of maize grower in Aurangabad district has been purposively selected for the study because Vaijapur and Gangapur tehsils having highest area under maize cropas compared to other tehsils in the Aurangabad district. With regard to constraint and opinions in production constraints pest attack major issue 91.66 percent and marketing constraints major issue non availability of market information 80 percent. Followed by production opinions highest to take information of maize crop 93.33 percent and marketing opinions given to the farmer highest in provide market information 86.66 respectively.

In constraints highly fertilizers cost was mostly occurred constraints that was 87.77 per cent then followed by electricity supply was not regular 83.33 per cent and unavailability of loan to farmer constraints faced by 73.33 per cent farmers. Suggestion suggested to provide combine harvester to 84.44 per cent farmer then followed by regular supply of electricity to 80 per cent farmers and then 75.55 per cent are suggested for need to provide timely crop loan to farmer. Marketing efficiency of channel-III was highest 52.76, followed by Channel-II 30.79 and then channel-I 27.29.

Study the Socioeconomic Characteristics of Maize Grower in Aurangabad District of Maharashtra, India

[Show full abstract] educational status was evaluated which shows 5 per cent maize growers were illiterate. It is revealed that, 25 per cent were primary school level, 11.67 per cent were at college level, 11.67 per cent at SSC level, 46.66 per cent at HSC level. This indicated that the maize growers in the study area were educated, upto college level. In case of maize growers, that in case of maize growers, 95 per cent of the farmers sole occupation was Agriculture. While 1.66 per cent farmers were involved in both Agriculture and Business, and 3.34 per cent were involved in agriculture and service. In case of kharif maize growers, it was seen that, 35.02 per cent male, 31.91 per cent female, and 33.07 per cent of children. The maize growers had livestock within their farm. About 31.15 per cent had one bullock pair, 33.96 per cent of buffalo, 34.89 per cent of cow respectively. In case of maize growers, 33.34 per cent of the sample farmers had less than 2 hectares of land holding and 48.33 per cent of the farmers had 2 to 4 hectares of land while 18.33 per cent of the sample farmers had more than 4 hectare of land holding. The means majority of the farmers having 2 to 4 ha farmers. The proportionate irrigated area was 94.19 per cent. Net sown area was 100 per cent. While Gross cropped area was 100 per cent and cropping intensity was 143.21. The proportionate area under maize crop was 17.80 per cent. Followed by cotton, onion and wheat was 23.40, 14.11, 11.21, per cent. This indicated that, the cropping pattern of the maize growers was dominated by maize alone. The cropping intensity 143.21.

Resource use efficiency and constraints in cultivation of maize in Haryana

The study was carried out during 2019 to determine the resource use efficiency and constraints faced in kharif maize growers in Karnal and Yamunanagar districts of Haryana. [Show full abstract] production function was used to determine the resource use efficiency of maize cultivation to find out the most significant factor which influences the respondent; Henry Garrett's (1969) ranking technique was used. For optimal allocation of resource, it was observed that all the inputs in both the districts were less than unity, which indicates that all these inputs were over utilized in the respective district. It reflects that all the inputs were over utilized and use of these inputs needs to be curtailed to attain higher returns. Major constraints were watch and ward required to protect the crop from stray animals, lack of availability of suitable machines for threshing of maize, lack of availability of maize dryers and lack of availability of quality seed of recommended maize hybrids as specified by the maize growers.
