This study aimed to contribute to the numerical simulation of the stability of an
embankment reinforced by a layer of geotextile in a flood zone. The numerical
simulation, conducted using PLAXIS software, focuses on assessing the impact of
reinforcement on the embankment's stability. The study includes a digital application
on the single-track Laghouat-Djelfa railway line, which traverses a flood zone.
Embankments in this area must be appropriately sized to ensure stability and
durability, and they must be safeguarded with lateral rockfill. The use of geotextile
enhances the anti-contaminant quality of base structures and facilitates the
implementation of base layers by preventing rutting in subgrade layers QS1 and QS2."
