Abstract

A ban on the display of tobacco products in shops and the sale of cigarettes from vending machines in the United Kingdom moved a step closer this week. The House of Commons approved the move for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Scotland has its own separate bill to achieve the same reform. Powers to introduce the bans are contained in the Health Bill, which had its final stages in the House of Commons this week.
