Abstract

The research report "Hungarian Freemasons in New York in the 20th Century" is based on the documents in the Livingstone Library in New York. At the beginning of the twentieth century, Masons living in New York and claiming Hungarian descent felt the need to find a Hungarian lodge(s). This is how two lodges were founded in New York. One was EHLERS Lodge No. 953, founded in 1918; the other was Louis Kossuth Lodge No. 1117, founded in 1934. This research report covers the history of these two lodges.
