Coleophora nigridorsella is recorded for the first time in Hungary. Presented ten rare Coleophora species from Hungary, Central Europe and Balkan Peninsula. A fajt a dabasi turjánvidéken fedezte fel Metelka Ferenc (1814–1885) gyógyszerész, a Bécsben élő Julius Lederer és írta le 1861-ben. Frivaldszky Imre 1865-ben jelezte, hogy a kizárólagosan hazánkból ismert „Metelka lipenye” felfedezője „első-kori életmódját s átalakulási viszonyait jelenleg még titkon tartja”. Ezek az ismeretek csak Metelka halála után kerültek nyilvánosságra, de még akkor is ... [Show full abstract] csak bizonyos rovarász körök beavatottjai tudták gyűjteni. A lápok lecsapolása következtében az ismert helyekről eltűnt, és kipusztultnak vélték. Ezért aztán szenzációnak számított a hír, hogy Gozmány László a Kiskunságban újra megtalálta 1972-ben. Részben a faj élőhelyeinek megőrzése adta a végső lendületet a Kiskunsági Nemzeti Park 1975-ben történő megalakulásához. The species was discovered by the pharmacist Ferenc Metelka (1814–1885) in the marshland of Dabas region, and Julius Lederer, who lived in Vienna, described it in 1861. Imre Frivaldszky indicated in 1865 that the discoverer of the moth “Metelka lipenye”, known exclusively from Hungary, “is still keeping in secret the knowledge of the early stages and life history”. This knowledge was only made public after Metelka’s death, but even then the species could only be collected by the insiders of certain entomological circles. As a result of canalization of the bogs, the species disappeared from the known places and was considered extinct. That is why the news that in 1972 László Gozmány found R. metelkana again in Kiskunság was sensational. In part, the conservation of the species’ habitats provided the final impetus for the establishment of the Kiskunság National Park in 1975.

The horse-chestnut leafminer is a new pest which was established in North-West Hungary ca. 10 years prior to these investigations. Due to the very limited time, there are relatively few studies on the parasitoid community of the moth and its connection with the leafminer host. Authors used twig-isolators to find out which larval/pupal instars are mostly parasitized and by which chalcidoid ... [Show full abstract] species. They also made an attempt to calculate density curves of different developmental stages of the moth and to compare them with flight curves of the parasitoids. Experiences indicated that 4-week-old larval (pupal) instars were parasitized to the highest degree. The most frequent parasitoids were Pediobius saulius and Pnigalio agraules . Statements about a poor synchronization between moth and parasitoids were confirmed but possibility of a shift in swarming times on location was suggested. Different methods to calculate rate of parasitism were compared and evaluated.

Cydalima perspectalis (Walker, 1859) is one of the most intensively observed pest species in Europe. Once introduced, the moth has spread from Germany, where the first record was made in 2007, over Switzerland, France, the Netherlands and Austria. In 2008 the moth reached the United Kingdom. In the south this species was also found in Turkey, Hungary, Slovenia and 2011 in Italy. Our new record ... Now, there is a new locality in the Emilia Romagna, where C. perspectalis was found in Pineta san Vitale, a protected area of the Parco regionale del Delta del Po near Ravenna. Neunachweis der neozoischen Schädlingsart Cydalima perspectalis (Walker, 1859) in der Emilia Romagna (Italien) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae, Spilomelinae) Zusammenfassung: Cydalima perspectalis (Walker, 1859) ist momentan wohl eine der am intensivsten beobachteten invasiven Schädlingsarten in Europa. Nach der Einschleppung, die schon 2007 in Deutschland beobachtet wurde, verbreitete sie sich über die Schweiz, Frankreich, die Niederlande und Österreich sowie 2008 auch nach Großbritannien. Im Süden wurde die Art bereits in der Türkei, Ungarn, Slowenien und 2011 auch erstmals in Italien gefunden. Unser neuer Fund bestätigt, dass sich diese Art auch dort immer weiter verbreitet. Nun haben wir einen neuen Fund in der Emilia Romagna zu verzeichnen, wo C. perspectalis in Pineta san Vitale, einem geschützten Teilstück des Parco regionale del Delta del Po in der Nähe von Ravenna, gefunden wurde. Nuove evidenze della specie infestante neozoica Cydalima perspectalis (Walker, 1859) in Emilia Romagna (Italia) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae, Spilomelinae) Riassunto: Al momento Cydalima perspectalis (Walker, 1859) è certo una delle specie infestanti invasive più intensamente osservate in Europa. Dopo la comparsa che su osservata in Germania già nel 2007, si diffuse in Svizzera, Francia, Paesi Bassi, Austria anche in Gran Bretagna nel 2008. A sud la specie su trovata già in Turchia, Ungheria, Slovenia e nel 2011 per la prima volta anche in Italia. Il nostro nuovo ritrovamento conferma che questa specie si sta sempre più diffondendo anche qui. Ora dobbiamo registrare un nuovo ritrovamento in Emilia Romagna: C. perspectalis è stata trovata nella Pineta San Vitale, una sezione protetta del Parco regionale del Delta del Po, nei pressi di Ravenna.

In the present study the Aethes species of Hungary are listed. Tortricidae are yet to be included in the revision of fauna of Hungary. The data of many species lists is vague since the recorders do not examine the genitalia. During the next years, the intention is to examine all the material in the Hungarian Tortricidae collections and to prepare detailed distribution maps for all species. More ... [Show full abstract] than 850 collection specimens of Hungarian Aethes species have been examined, about 150 dissected and their genitalia analysed. The author has studied the Aethes material in public collections in Komló, Pécs, Kaposvár, Zirc, Szombathely, Budapest, Gyöngyös, Vienna, Münich and some private collections as well. Distribution maps of the species show the hypothetical resident distribution area (grey), combined with localites from which specimens have been examined (black dots). The white ring is references data. Phenology is given mainly on the basis of examined collection data, and data from references are used only as a supplement. Larva foodplants and habitats are the author's own original data, personal communications and taken from the references. The species vertical distribution refers mainly to the analysis of collection data, the author's own original data, and with references data used as additional source. " The invasive species Coptodisca lucifluella, also called the walnut shield bearer is recorded for the first time in Romania in this report. It is a leaf miner of North American origin, having been discovered for the first time in Europe (Italy) in 2010. Since then it has been confirmed in other three European countries, Hungary (2017), Ukraine (2019) and Bulgaria (2020), and now in Romania. In ... [Show full abstract] its native habitats, the species is known to be specialized on woody plants from the family Juglandaceae, genus Carya, in particular the pecan nut tree, Carya illinoinensis (Wangenh.) K. Koch. In the newly occupied territories in Europe, the moth was reported mainly on Juglans spp., especially J. regia (L.) (with very few instances on Juglans nigra (L.), Carya spp. and Pterocarya spp.). In August 2022, leaves of common walnut (J. regia) with mines of C. lucifluella were collected in Southern Romania (Bucharest, Ilfov and Giurgiu Counties) and Western Romania (Arad County). The walnuts were in cities, rural areas, alongside roads and walnuts spontaneously grown in vineyards, at altitudes from 60 to 200 m a.s.l."
