Implicit axioms related to orientalists’ position on the source of
revelation and the structure of the Quranic text
Abstract:
This research deals with the implicit postulates related to the orientalists’ position on the
source of the revelation and the structure of the Qur’anic text, as it aims to reveal the most
prominent reasons that made orientalists fall into the implicit postulates, and then to clarify
the most prominent of these postulates that affected their position on the source of the
Qur’anic revelation and the structure of its text, The study adopts the inductive and deductive
approaches, and the researchers found that one of the main reasons why Orientalists fall into
implicit postulates is their deconstructive view of the Qur’anic text, and their ignorance of the
subtleties of the language. The effect of the orientalists’ denial of objective consistency in the
structure of the text on their position on the arrangement of verses and surahs in the Holy
Qur’an.
Keywords implicit postulates, the position of orientalists, the source of revelation, the structure of the text.
