An API (Application Programming Interface) defines a set of rules and protocols that govern how software components interact with each other. This involves defining the endpoints, methods, data formats, authentication mechanisms, and other specifications required for interaction. A well-designed API is intuitive, consistent, and adheres to industry best practices. 2. API Frameworks: Developers often use API frameworks or libraries to simplify the process of building APIs. These frameworks provide pre-defined structures, tools, and functionalities to handle common API tasks, such as routing, request handling, serialization, and authentication. Examples of popular API frameworks include Flask and Django for Python, Express.js for Node.js, and Ruby on Rails for Ruby. 3.
