Representatives of the genus Pelargonium L'Нer belong to one of the most common flower crops. Today, thousands of highly ornamental pelargonium species (zonal, large-flowered, ivy-leaved, fragrant, unique, and angels) are used in landscaping cities around the world. Therefore, the need for accelerated reproduction of valuable plants most adapted to local conditions increases. The implementation of the planned landscaping programs at the present stage can be successfully implemented if they are based on the results of scientific research. The solution of these issues will open up wide opportunities for the use of pelargonium in landscape gardening of the Nikitsky Gardens and the Crimea as a whole.

[Show full abstract] productive varieties Monarda fistulosa L. to determine the prospects of its use in pharmacy and further standardization of raw materials. Essential oil from the aboveground part of Monarda fistulosa L. was obtained by hydrodistillation using the Ginsberg instrument, its content in the raw material reached 2.38% in terms of absolutely dry raw materials. The component composition of essential oil from the aboveground part of the Monarda fistulosa L. was studied by chromatographymass spectrometry. The presence of 41 components was revealed, 38 of them were identified, the main group being monoterpenes and their derivatives. The highest content of p-cymene, thymol, thymoquinone, thymohydroquinone, carvacrol, γ-terpinene was found in the sample of essential oil. Evaluation of the data of chromatography-mass spectrometry confirms the prospects of using essential oil and Monarda fistulosa L. grass of the assayed variety in pharmaceutical and medical practice as an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal and immunostimulating agent.

Chemical composition of peach fruits in the collection of Nikitsky Botanical Garden

The article quotes data on fruits biochemical composition for 101 varieties of peach from Nikita Botanical Garden collection. 88 varieties have been singled out according to the composition of bioactive substances. Among those varieties the North China and Iran ecological and geographical groups prevail (52.3% and 37.5%, respectively).

The selected varieties belong to the group of constant tart on their quality whose fruits are edible only when fully ripe Varieties are characterized by high winter hardiness and disease resistance, which allows minimizing the chemicals using for plants treating and creates the conditions for organic food. The chemical composition fruits studying of three oriental persimmons varieties have performed high content of potassium, so it affords their using as a general tonic. The obtained results have revealed that according to the content of essential elements the leading fruit of variety Souvenir Autumn is considered to be, the less valuable are fruits of Nikita Burgundy, and Hana Fuyu fruits on this indicator are intermediate.
