The Australian bronze bug Thaumastocoris peregrinus Carpintero & Dellapé, 2006 (Heteroptera:
Thaumastocoridae) was described based on specimens collected in Argentina (CARPINTERO &
DELLAPÉ, 2006). The species is a serious pest of Eucalyptus sp. (Myrtaceae) and an invasive species in
Europe, where it has been reported from Albania, Italy (mainland, Sardinia, Sicily), Greece (mainland,
several islands including Crete), Malta, Portugal and Spain (VAN DER HEYDEN, 2021).
Now, the presence of T. peregrinus on the Canary Islands can be reported: On 30-12-2022, an
adult specimen was found and photographed by Merav Vonshak in the Barranco de Azuaje near Moya,
located in the north of the island of Gran Canaria. Two photos of the specimen were uploaded to the
online database iNaturalist (see here).
This finding of T. peregrinus on Gran Canaria is the first record of the species for the Canary
Islands. It might also be found on other islands of the archipelago where Eucalyptus species are
present. Due to the damages the species might cause to its host plants, further research on its
presence on the Canary Islands should be done.
Acknowledgements
I like to thank Merav Vonshak for making his finding available to the public.

In this note, more new records are reported in addition to the above mentioned publications. ...

In addition to recently published checklists and single records of Heteroptera from the Canary Islands, new records of Leptoglossus gonagra (Fabricius, 1775) (Heteroptera: Coreidae), Beosus maritimus (Scopoli, 1763) (Heteroptera: Rhyparochromidae), Eurydema lundbladi Lindberg, 1960 and Piezodorus teretipes (Stål, 1865) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) are reported. A comment on the presence of Nariscus spinosus (Burmeister, 1835) (Heteroptera: Alydidae) on the island of Fuerteventura is also included.
