Aplikasi Pencarian Showroom Yamaha di Kota Tasikmalaya Berbasis Android Menggunakan Metode Location-Based Service (LBS) dan Framework React Native

Abstract

The Yamaha Showroom is a place for repairing and selling spear parts. Not all Yamaha showroom locations can be known by the public, both those from the City of Tasikmalaya and those from outside the city. This is due to a lack of information about the Yamaha showroom in Tasikmalaya City. This study aims to build an android-based Yamaha showroom search application as a source of information to find out the location and route to the showroom location in Tasikmalaya City. The application design method involves modeling using UML (Unified Modeling Language) and location-based service (LBS) applied to the Yamaha showroom search application that was built. The results of the research resulted in a Yamaha showroom search application in Tasikmalaya City that can help the community in finding Yamaha showroom locations in Tasikmalaya City. This showroom search application in the city of Tasikmalaya can help show the direction to go. This application provides information about the opening hours and location of the Yamaha showroom. The LBS method applied to this application is for coordinate points that are more accurate and can be used anywhere and anytime by the public and easy to use.

ABSTRAK
Showroom Yamaha merupakan tempat menyelenggarakan upaya perbaikan
dan penjualan spear part. Tidak semua lokasi showroom Yamaha dapat
diketahui oleh masyarakat baik yang berasal dari Kota Tasikmalaya maupun
yang berasal dari luar kota. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya informasi
tentang showroom Yamaha di Kota Tasikmalaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
membangun aplikasi pencarian showroom Yamaha berbasis android sebagai
sumber informasi untuk mengetahui letak dan rute menuju lokasi showroom
yang ada di Kota Tasikmalaya. Metode perancangan aplikasi dengan
melibatkan permodelan menggunakan UML (Unified Modelling Language) dan
location-based Service (LBS) diterapkan pada aplikasi pencarian showroom
Yamaha yang dibangun. Hasil penelitan dihasilkannya aplikasi pencarian
showroom Yamaha di Kota Tasikmalaya dapat membantu masyarakat dalam
mencari lokasi showroom Yamaha di Kota Tasikmalaya. Aplikasi pencarian
showroom di Kota Tasikmalaya ini dapat membantu menunjukan arah yang
dituju. Aplikasi ini memberikan informasi tentang jam buka dan lokasi showroom
Yamaha tersebut. Metode LBS yang diterapkan pada aplikasi ini untuk titik
koordinat yang lebih akurat serta dapat digunakan dimana saja dan kapan saja
oleh masyarakat dan mudah dalam penggunaannya.

Pendahuluan
Perkembangan teknologi di era globalisasi saat ini berlangsung sangat cepat.
Teknologi informasi sudah menjadi hal yang sangat lumrah dan sebuah keharusan
dalam segala aspek kehidupan. Tak hanya itu, saat ini teknologi informasi bahkan telah
menjadi tulang punggung kehidupan manusia dalam penyediaan dan pemberian
informasi [1][2]. Keberadaan sebuah informasi yang real-time, cepat dan akurat menjadi
hal yang sangat penting bagi kelangsungan hidup manusia saat ini [3][4]. Data dan
informasi yang diperlukan tentu harus mudah diakses dengan efektif dan efisien oleh
berbagai pihak yang berkepentingan [5][6].
Beberapa penelitian telah dilakukan, seperti yang diteliti oleh Kalimasada (2018)
dengan menghasilkan aplikasi pencarian lokasi dealer sepeda motor di kota Purworejo
berbasis android dapat lebih memudahkan masyarakat dalam mencari informasi
tentang rute lokasi terdekat dealer sepeda motor di Kota Purworejo [7]. Berbeda yang
dilakukan oleh Julio (2017) menerapkan algoritma dijkstra untuk menentukan jalur
terpendek dengan menghasilkan sistem informasi geografis rumah kost di
Pangkalpinang yang dapat membantu masyarakat lokal maupun luar dari
Pangkalpinang dalam menemukan rumah kost [8]. Pratama & Priandika (2020)
membahas tentang sistem informasi location-based service sentra keripik berbasis
android dapat memberikan kemudahan bagi wisatawan dari dalam maupun luar bandar
lampung dalam mencari lokasi sentra keripik yang ada di Kota Bandar Lampung [9]. Hal
yang sama juga diteliti oleh Putra, Pranatawijaya & Sari (2020) menrancang aplikasi
android yang dapat menunjukan lokasi runag ujian, sehingga dapat membantu
mahasiswa dalam pencarian lokasi ruang ketika ujian [10]. Penerapan location-based
service juga diteliti oleh Usman Ependi & Suyanto (2022) implementasi location-based
service pada aplikasi mobile pencarian halte BRT Transmusi Palembang memudahkan
dalam menemukan dan menuju halte terdekat dari posisinya berada karena aplikasi ini
akan menampilkan peta jalan untuk menuju ke lokasi halte terdekat [11]. Berdasarkan
penelitian terdahulu, diketahui bahwa penggunaan LBS dapat menampilkan informasi
terkait lokasi secara mudah dan akurat dan dapat dijalankan pada berbagai device
smartphone saat ini.
Berdasarkan permasalahan, urgensi penelitian yang difokuskan pada kebutuhan
masyarakat dalam mendapatkan informasi mengenai letak lokasi showroom Yamaha
yang bukan berada di wilayah tempat tinggalnya, khususnya di Kota Tasikmalaya,
kurangnya informasi yang dibutuhkan terkait informasi tentang Showroom Yamaha
apabila masyarakat ingin menghubungi pihak showroom terdekat. Tetapi, dalam
penelitian hanya pada proses perancangan sebuah aplikasi sistem informasi geografis
pemetaan lokasi showroom Yamaha di Kota Tasikmalaya yang digunakan untuk
menampilkan peta lokasi showroom Yamaha yang menjadi tujuan berdasarkan kordinat
lokasi showroom Yamaha yang dituju. Aplikasi ini diharapkan memiliki beberapa
kelebihan, baik dari segi kemudahan operasional, kecepatan akses serta kelengkapan
fiturnya, suatu aplikasi yang mudah digunakan dengan tampilan yang menarik serta
lebih mengefisienkan dan mengefektifkan proses pengaksesan informasi yang
dilakukan oleh masyarakat sebagai penggunanya aplikasi ini hanya untuk menampilkan
lokasi showroom Yamaha yang ada di Kota Tasikmalaya saja.
2.
Metodelogi Penelitian
Penelitian ini yang peneliti lakukan di Kota Tasikmalaya pada pihak-pihak yang
terkait dalam penelitian ini. Alasan peneliti mengadakan penelitian di Kota Tasikmalaya
dengan pertimbangan bahwa di Kota Tasikmalaya ini belum tersedia aplikasi pencarian
showroom Yamaha. Penelitian ini direncanakan pada semester genap tahun 2021/2022
yang dimulai dari tampilan maps dan koordinat titik lokasi showroom Yamaha.
Selanjutnya dilakukan perancangan awal aplikasi dengan melibatkan permodelan
menggunakan UML (Unified Modelling Language) yang menggambarkan hubungan

interaksi antara sistem dan aktor [12][13]. Use case diagram dan class diagram
digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan tipe interaksi antara si pengguna sistem dengan
sistem serta menunjukkan sistem class, atributnya, metode, dan hubungan antar objek
yang dibuat nantinya.
Location-based Service (LBS) diterapkan pada aplikasi pencarian showroom
Yamaha yang dibangun. LBS mengacu pada layanan yang didasarkan pada lokasi
pengguna ponsel sebagaimana ditentukan oleh lokasi geografis perangkat [14]. Aplikasi
LBS menyediakan layanan dan informasi yang paling relevan bagi pengguna di lokasi
tersebut dengan teknologi yang mendukung hal ini meliputi cell of origin (juga dikenal
sebagai cell ID), AOA, time of arrival (TOA), EOTD dan GPS atau Assisted GPS
[15][16]. Contoh penggunaan LBS yang umum digunakan termasuk aplikasi navigasi,
layanan jejaring sosial, periklanan berbasis lokasi, dan sistem pelacakan [17].
Framework React Native digunakan untuk hasil aplikasi mobile nantinya, dimana React
Native merupakan framework cross-platform yang memungkinkan pemrogram
membangun aplikasi seluler yang dapat berjalan di berbagai platform seperti Windows,
Android, iOS di JavaScript [18][19][20].
3.
Hasil dan Pembahasan
3.1 Hasil
Hasil penelitian ini telah berhasil merancang sebah aplikasi dengan rancangan awal
penggunaan use case diagram dan class diagram. Aplikasi dimulai dari form login,
setelah user berhasil masuk, kemudian user bisa melakukan pencarian dengan
menggunakan menu katalog, dan workshop yang dipilih. Setelah sudah dipilih sesuai
kebutuhan, user baru bisa masuk ke layout atau tampilan pencarian showroom
Yamaha.

Pada gambar 1 merupakan use case diagram dari aplikasi pencairan showroom
Yamaha pada Aplikasi showroom Yamaha. Pada gambar 1 terdapat Satu Aktor yaitu
User (Pengguna) dan didapatkan 8 fungsi.

Pada gambar 2 dari gambar class diagram diatas dapat dijelaskan bahwa class
diagram mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis objek dalam sistem yang saling berelasi dan
nantinya digunakan untuk merancang database sistem. Class yang terbentuk yaitu
profile, form pencarian dan tentang kami.
3.2 Pembahasan
Pada gambar 3 dibawah dapat lihat tampilan jika sudah berhasil masuk, maka
aplikasi pencarian showroom Yamaha akan menampilkan halaman seperti maps pada
titik lokasi showroom. Berikut ini gambar tampilan utama aplikasi showroom Yamaha.

Pada gambar 4 diatas dapat dilihat Jika sudah berhasil masuk, maka aplikasi pencarian
showroom Yamaha akan menampilkan halaman seperti Maps pada titik lokasi
showroom. Berikut ini gambar tampilan utama aplikasi showroom Yamaha:

Pada gambar 5 diatas dapat dilihat tampilan Jika sudah berhasil Masuk ke Menu,
maka aplikasi pencarian showroom Yamaha akan menampilkan halaman seperti
Profile, Katalog, Lokasi Bengkel, Tentang. pada titik lokasi showroom. Berikut ini
gambar tampilan utama aplikasi showroom Yamaha.

Kesimpulan
Berdasarkan Hasil perancangan dan pembahasan pada rancangan aplikasi
pencarian Showroom Yamaha di Kota Tasikmalaya maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa
Aplikasi pencarian Showroom Yamaha di kota Tasikmalaya dapat membantu
masyarakat dalam mencari Lokasi Showroom Yamaha di Kota Tasikmalaya. Aplikasi
pencarian Showroom di kota Tasikmalaya ini dapat membantu menunjukan arah yang
dituju. Aplikasi ini memberikan informasi tentang jam buka dan lokasi Showroom
Yamaha tersebut. Metode LBS yang diterapkan pada aplikasi ini untuk titik koordinat
yang lebih akurat serta dapat digunakan dimana saja dan kapan saja oleh masyarakat
dan mudah dalam penggunaannya.

Yogyakarta is a city that has many sports facilities and types of sports. However, not all sports facilities are known by the people of Yogyakarta, especially for migrants from outside the city. So that a sports venue search mobile application is needed that can provide information about sports facilities, the need for sports facility information that can be accessed whenever and wherever the user is. Based on the above problems, it is proposed to create an android-based nearest sports venue search system. This system determines the location of the nearest facilities and infrastructure from the user's position by calculating the distance from two coordinate points and displayed on google maps and displaying the route to the nearest sports venue from the user. The result of this research is an android-based sports facilities and infrastructure location search application by utilizing GPS geolocation that can detect the coordinates of smartphone users and can display distances, road routes, and location updates. This application uses a data collection method by observation and identifying problems to test applications that are in accordance with community and functional needs. By utilizing Location-Based Services technology, it also increases the convenience of application users who want to exercise. After this sports venue search application is perfect, it will be able to run on the latest android or can run on ios for further features in the development of this application.

Information system development is a crucial step in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of company operations. This research aims to understand, design, and implement a data collection information system for car salons and body repairs at PT. Isuindomas Putra (Capella Body Center) in Banda Aceh City. Qualitative descriptive research methods are used to describe phenomena that occur in real situations, by collecting data through direct observation, interviews, and literature study. The results of the analysis show that the current information system experiences several weaknesses, such as slow processing, errors in making reports, and lack of data security. Therefore, the design of the new system was carried out using software development methods based on the software development life cycle (SDLC). Development steps include requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The discussion presents the results of ongoing system analysis and new system design to improve work effectiveness at PT. Isuindomas Putra (Capella Body Center) Banda Aceh City. The conclusion states that the implementation of a car salon and body repair information system provides significant benefits for the company, while suggestions are given for further development towards integration with the inventory system and providing complete accounting reports. Thus, the development of this information system is expected to increase the company's overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Health Service is a place to organize health efforts. Not all health service locations are known to the public, both those from Tasikmalaya City and those from outside the city. This is due to a lack of information about health services in the City of Tasikmalaya. Progress and development of the times, as currently the use of technology is needed to be able to provide information quickly, where the use of technology can be accessed anytime and wherever the user is. The use of Information Technology such as using an Android-based Smartphone Application can be used to help citizens to find a location and find out the route to the desired health service. The research method used is the waterfall process model. Bima is one of the cities in West Nusa Tenggara which has various tourist objects. Apart from nature tourism, there are also many other tours such as modern water tourism that provides water parks, historical tours, religious tours and culinary tours. So far, recommendations for tourist destinations are usually word of mouth, mass media, browsing¸ and social media. This makes not all tourist objects can be visited, due to lack of information and the location of tourist objects that are scattered so that it is difficult to reach by public transportation. This research offers an android application that can provide convenience to tourists who want to visit tourist attractions. This application provides information about existing tourist objects starting from location information, facilities, opening and closing hours as well as guides for reaching locations using the Location Based Service method. Every tourist can download the application and run it on a smartphone. Application users can select tourist objects by category and the system will provide guide facilities to the tourist sites they want to visit. Based on these problems, an Android-based boarding house search application is needed, an application system that can be a place for out-of-towners who feel confused in finding boarding houses that suit their wishes, and can help boarding owners promote their boarding houses online via a smartphone based on android. The research objective was to design a boarding house search application in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, the method used was the waterfall methodology, which is a system method that begins with the requirements analysis stage, then system design, implementation of application development, and users are carried out. This application system was developed using the Java programming language and utilizing Location Based Services and Google Maps. The results of the research resulted in a boarding house search application that makes it easier for users to find boarding houses according to their needs and also this application can provide information about boarding facilities and this application can also make it easier for boarding house owners to publish their boarding houses.

PT. Pena Berkah Ilmu is a medium-sized company engaged in Food & Beverage, social and humanitarian institutions, event organizers, travel and merchandise sales where this company still implements attendance methods such as signatures for employees. The attendance of each employee is recorded through the existing attendance system. However, in its implementation, sometimes there are some persons who do not attend or forget to attend. This results in the employee being considered absent. This desire arose because this company experienced difficulties in processing attendance information data, resulting in more and more hardcopy archives and making it difficult when the company's management intended to recap and re-collect data and employee attendance lists. This study uses the waterfall method which describes a systematic and sequential approach to software, starting with the specification of employee requirements, design, modeling, construction, delivery of the system to employees and complete software support that is produced. With this attendance application, it will be easier for employees to carry out attendance attendance even though they are outside the office and attendance data will later be stored in the database so that it will make it easier for the personnel department to be able to recapitulate employee data.

This research was conducted at SD 02 Pagi Pondok Labu, Cilandak, South Jakarta, with a background of the problem, namely the learning process used in education today where computer-based learning media is only limited to transferring paper media to digital media with the same appearance. This is what causes the learning media to be less than optimal as is the case in the mathematics learning process where the media used in learning material about mathematics in elementary schools is less attractive because of the learning process that still uses classical methods or conventional methods in the teaching and learning process. This research method uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method while the data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and literature study. This study aims to design and build learning media applications in the form of Android-based math educational games. The results of the research are in the form of a mathematics educational game application at Pondok Labu 02 Pagi Elementary School that can be played with a smartphone or laptop as a medium to increase interest in learning for students and media for teachers in providing learning about mathematics.

The library is part of a separate building or structure that contains a collection of books, which are arranged and arranged in such a way that it is easy to find and use them at any time when needed by readers. Along with the development of the times, many libraries have abandoned the manual system and switched to a digital system. However, the Yapemri library still uses a manual system from borrowing to freezing, so it is not uncommon for opening files to be lost. This causes losses to the library because many loan reports are often lost. Therefore, by utilizing technology the research team developed the Yapemri library application so that the library no longer uses a manual system. The Yapemri Library application was created using the PHP programming language and MySQL as the Xampp database as a web server. This application has gone through two stages of testing, namely user testing and black-box testing. The test results with black-box show that all the features in the application run well. The results of the responses from users stated that they were quite good for this application. Thus, the authors can conclude that the website-based Yapemri library application is successful.

In the application development process using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method and modeling design using Data Flow Diagrams (DFD). From the discussion that has been described, it can be concluded that the results of this study tourists can easily and quickly get information about tourist objects, culinary, lodging around tourist sites in Nagekeo district. It is estimated that tourism development technology will continue, which is a big opportunity for companies and destinations, especially in Indonesia. There is a need for studies on tourists on cultural experiences, streaming platforms, metaverse technology, biometric payment methods so that there are innovations to attract visitors and add value to the local tourism industry through the implementation of digital solutions.

Palangka Raya University is the oldest university in Central Kalimantan. Has eight faculties, one of which is the Faculty of Engineering. The Faculty of Engineering has four study programs. When conducting the exam, four study programs will carry out the exam simultaneously. Sometimes students have difficulty finding the location of the exam room in the engineering faculty. Android has various features including cameras, internet, MMS, Global Positioning System (GPS) including LBS (Location Based Service) technology and others. LBS (Location Based Service) is an android feature that is used to visualize technology to determine the location that users want to know by utilizing satellite facilities. By using the prototype software development method, this research created stages, communication, quick plans, quick modeling designs, construction of prototypes and delivery and feedback deployments. From the results of this study designed an Android application that can show the location of the test. So that it can help students in finding the location of the room during the exam.

a b s t r a c t Open Journal Systems (OJS) is a web-based content management system specifically designed to handle the entire process of scientific publication management. The Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education also develops its own index, namely SINTA (Science and Technology Index) which is expected to not only refer to the journal index Scopus. The relationship between Access Indexing and OJS is inseparable where the OJS is a facility in managing journal publications and Access Indexing is a feature to disseminate journal articles to journal searches. This study tries to build an Access Open Journal Systems (AOJS) model that can be used as a form of publication and publishing management on international indexing. The application allows updating of data/content and sharing from various online journal sources. Access Open Journal Systems (AOJS) can enable end-user users, and still refer to international publishing management standards. It is expected that Access Open Journal Systems (AOJS) can increase publication and management of publishing electronically and be fully implemented by authors, publishers, and partners of reviewers. The Access Open Journal Systems (AOJS) application will take the Open Knowledge Systems (OJS) Public Knowledge Project (PKP) model, with the reason that the Open Journal Systems (OJS) is one of the most widely used OJS and is a recommendation from the Ministry of Research and Technology with PDII LIPI in obtaining National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA) and facilitates researchers to see, adapt, and modify for the purposes of this study. Abstrak— BRT Transmusi Palembang, merupakan sarana angkutan umum masyarakat kota palembang yang sedang berkembang dengan pesat. Sampai saat ini armadanya sudah mencapai 180 unit dan didukung dengan keberadaan halte yang jumlahnya mencapai 290 halte. Untuk menggunakan jasa BRT TransMusi, masyarakat terlebih dahulu harus menuju ke halte terdekat. Banyaknya halte yang tersebar di penjuru kota Palembang, justru menyebabkan kebingungan bagi pengguna untuk menentukan halte mana yang harus dia tuju. Untuk itu, masyarakat perlu panduan agar bisa menemukan dan menuju halte dengan cepat. Penelitian ini mengembangkan aplikasi mobile pencarian halte BRT TransMusi berbasis lokasi. Dengan aplikasi ini pengguna dapat dengan mudah menemukan dan menuju halte terdekat dari posisinya berada karena aplikasi ini akan menampilkan peta jalan untuk menuju ke lokasi halte terdekat. Aplikasi ini dikembangkan dalam bentuk mobile, karena pengguna akan lebih mudah dan lebih cepat dalam mengakses aplikasi ini. Selain itu dengan perangkat mobile pengguna bisa mengakases aplikasi ini kapan saja dan dimana saja dalam wilayah kota Palembang. ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa penerapan aplikasi keuangan berbasis android pada hasil laporan keuangan Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) di wilayah Mekarsari, Depok, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan melakukan studi pada situasi yang alami berdasarkan implementasi, dan evaluasi yang disesuiakan dengan temuan dilapangan. Hasil penelitian ini di dapat bahwa dalam pencatatan keuangan menggunakan Aplikasi Keuangan android pada smartphone pemilik UMKM di wilayah Mekarsari, Depok, terbukti memudahkan dalam transaksi bisnis berupa pembelian-penjualan, hutang-piutang, pembayaran beban operasional dan lainnya, laporan keuangan pada smartphone berbasis Android mudah digunakan kapan saja. Informasi yang real time dalam sistem ini membantu operasional bergerak lebih efektif dan efisien. Kata Kunci: Aplikasi keuangan, android, laporan keuangan ABSTRACT. This research aims to analyze the application of Android-based financial applications on the results of the financial statements of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in the Mekarsari region, Depok, West Java. The results of this study found that in financial recording using the Android Financial Application on smartphone owners of UMKM in the Mekarsari region, Depok, it was proven to facilitate business transactions in the form of purchases, debts, payment of operating expenses and others, financial reports on Android-based smartphones are easy used at any time. Location-based services (LBS) are a new concept integrating a user's geographic location with the general notion of services, such as dialing an emergency number from a cell phone or using a navigation system in a car. Incorporating both mobile communication and spatial data, these applications represent a novel challenge both conceptually and technically. The purpose of this book is to describe, in an accessible fashion, the various concepts underlying mobile location-based services. These range from general application-related ideas to technical aspects. Each chapter starts with a high level of abstraction and drills down to the technical details. Contributors examine each application from all necessary perspectives, namely, requirements, services, data, and scalability. An illustrative example begins early in the book and runs throughout, serving as a reference.

Positioning techniques are known in a wide variety of wireless radio access technologies. Traditionally, Global Positioning System (GPS) is the most popular outdoor positioning system. Localization also exists in mobile networks such as Global System for Mobile communications (GSM). Recently, Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) become widely deployed, and they are also used for localizing wireless-enabled clients. Many techniques are used to estimate client position in a wireless network. They are based on the characteristics of the received wireless signals: power, time or angle of arrival. In addition, hybrid positioning techniques make use of the collaboration between different wireless radio access technologies existing in the same geographical area. Client positioning allows the introduction of numerous services like real-time tracking, security alerts, informational services and entertainment applications. Such services are known as Location Based Services (LBS), and they are useful in both commerce and security sectors. In this paper, we explain the principles behind positioning techniques used in satellite networks, mobile networks and Wireless Local Area Networks. We also describe hybrid localization methods that exploit the coexistence of several radio access technologies in the same region, and we classify the location based services into several categories. When localization accuracy is improved, position-dependant services become more robust and efficient, and user satisfaction increases.

The Primary Care Data Quality programme (PCDQ) is a quality-improvement programme which processes routinely collected general practice computer data. Patient data collected from a wide range of different brands of clinical computer systems are aggregated, processed, and fed back to practices in an educational context to improve the quality of care. Process modelling is a well-established approach used to gain understanding and systematic appraisal, and identify areas of improvement of a business process. Unified modelling language (UML) is a general purpose modelling technique used for this purpose. We used UML to appraise the PCDQ process to see if the efficiency and predictability of the process could be improved. Activity analysis and thinking-aloud sessions were used to collect data to generate UML diagrams. The UML model highlighted the sequential nature of the current process as a barrier for efficiency gains. It also identified the uneven distribution of process controls, lack of symmetric communication channels, critical dependencies among processing stages, and failure to implement all the lessons learned in the piloting phase. It also suggested that improved structured reporting at each stage - especially from the pilot phase, parallel processing of data and correctly positioned process controls - should improve the efficiency and predictability of research projects. Process modelling provided a rational basis for the critical appraisal of a clinical data processing system; its potential maybe underutilized within health care.
