Introduction to Convergence Convergence may be defined as the communication means,
modes and processes that can be characterized as one of the important changes in media
technology in the present scenario. The recent developments such as interactivity, fragmentation
convergence of the audience have implications not only for exchanging of ideas but also for
social relations and maintain better relationship. The active participation of audience in public
discussion, social websites, news portals as the reflection of new public arena. Audience can
easily share their views, ideas, opinion on news portals regarding news, photographs, videos and
other interactive features.
Definition of Interactivity - Interactivity has been defined as a natural feature of interpersonal
communication and it has been applied to ICTs, such as the Internet, News portals. This research
paper focuses on mediated interactivity rather than interpersonal interactive communication. But,
in this mediated environment, both user-to-user interactive communication and user-to-medium
are taken.
As Gunter (2003: 146) defined interactivity and how it works is fundamental for understanding
the likely success of Internet services. Interactivity is a critical concept in computer-mediated
communication since it is seen as the essential advantage of the medium (Pavlik1996, van Dijk
2000, Rafaeli and Sudweeks 1997, Durlak 1987, Sundar et al. 2003). However, different
researchers have used different conceptualizations of interactivity. Ideally, an interactive system
is illustrated by an immediate involvement between the human and the system, or, as Lippman
puts it, as a working technical definition, by “mutual and simultaneous activity on the part of
both participants, usually working toward some goal, but not necessarily.
Online News Portal and Interactivity - The Dainik Jagran news portal provides more and more
content in a free of cost. Audiences are very much aware of these online add-ons features that are
available on news portal. You can surf, upload and download the content in bilingual language
i.e. Hindi and English. This stuff you can only find on news portal not the print paper.

Hyperlink is the most important and simplest level of interactivity, which allows audience to
move from point to point within the same page, within the same site or to external sites and
pages. Online news portal offers not only content but also in various advanced features. These
interactive features of news portal will allow building new relationships with each other.

end of the news/ article. The option of writing feedbacks at the end of news or a news piece,

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used in our day-today life. AI for journalism is a reality. Just like other vital aspects of our life, AI has also entered the world of journalism. Many reputed news organizations have adopted AI in journalism to perform various newsroom tasks. In today's digital world, several technologies are powering journalism. One such technology that is transforming the journalism field is artificial intelligence. Accuracy is a core value of journalism. With AI and machine learning systems, there's a statistical element of uncertainty which means it's impossible to guarantee 100 percent accuracy. AI tools such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, Microsoft's Bing chatbot, and Google's Bard have been subject to debate now. AI tools have the potential to assist in a variety of tasks, such as scraping PDF files, writing code, and translating languages. AI can be a helpful tool for journalism students and media researchers. A main concern among computational journalists is that AI sometimes hallucinates data. This review paper highlights how artificial intelligence can help journalists.

This research paper assesses the use of social media and its impact on students’ academic performance studying at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. The questionnaire was used for the collection of data. The 150 copies of the questionnaire were distributed, 120 were retrieved, which represented a response rate of 80 %. The research study revealed that most of the respondents had mobile phones with Internet facilities and had knowledge of many social media sites and mobile applications. The study further confirmed that most respondents visit their social media sites using their mobile phones and spend time between 30 minutes to 3 hours per day. The study also revealed that the use of social media sites and mobile application had negatively affected the student's academic performance and that there was a direct relationship between the use of social media sites and their academic performance. The study recommends that students with mobile phones should be encouraged to use them to supplement their research in the library rather than the usual chatting with friends and family members. Students should also be encouraged to spend more time reading novels and books rather than spending most of their time on social media. The use of social media sites has affected the academic performance of students negatively. Hence, there is an urgent need for the introduction of students to the available educational resources in the library.

Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web. In addition to traditional course materials such as videos, readings, and problem sets, MOOCs provide interactive user forums that help build a community for students, professors, and teaching assistants. MOOCs have recently received a great deal of attention from the press, education professionals, entrepreneurial vendors, and technologically literate sections of the public. MOOCs will provide free access to advanced courses to students of higher education in the university system. Across the world, premier universities have put their courses online by setting up open learning platforms, such as edX. Commercial start-ups such as Coursera and Udacity have also been launched in collaboration with prestigious universities, offering online courses for free or charging a small fee for certification. The rapid expansion of MOOCs has sparked commercial interest from venture capitalists and major corporations who want to enter the Higher Education (HE) market using a MOOC approach. Students' participation in MOOCs is a vital area of interest. Factors that influence students to learn include developing personal and professional identity, challenge and achievement, enjoyment, and fun. A Survey conducted at Kurukshetra University shows that student awareness fell into three categories a) To support lifelong learning and understanding of the subject matter, b) For fun, social experience, and intellectual c) To experience or explore online education. In order to investigate the awareness of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) a qualitative study was employed, and semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with students of Kurukshetra University. The researcher interviewed the participants based on a list of questions expanded from the three primary research questions based on the awareness, content usage, and learning outcomes. The questions were open-ended, which allowed the participants to freely express their experiences, thoughts, and feelings about the use of MOOCs. This study demonstrates the awareness and motivation among students of Kurukshetra University.
